What Have You Named Your Sleeve?

Recommended Posts

Lol...I have named my Almanzo cuz my surgeon was Dr Almanza and Almanso was that guy I liked on "Little House on the Praire" as a child. You know, the one Laura had a crush on and later married. I never did figure their age gap out?? Lol. I also pretend they mine is speaking Spanish when its making noises. I'm such a dork!

Bwahahaha! That made me laugh and being a dork myself, I googled it and there was a 10 year age gap lol.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Little House.. I read all of the books in middle school.. I also had the biggest crush on Almanzo Wilder after he went to get Laura from her teaching job to be home for Christmas in that blizzard!!! LOL...

Yep, the age gap was 10-12 years.. He was 25 when they met (I believe)...

This is cracking me up. I haven't named my sleeve, but I will tell you that my little tiny pillow that I've carried around to protect my tummy from kids and dogs post-op and to push against me when I'm achy, I named him. I have a history of naming essential pillows. My body pillow during my pregnancies was Phil. And this little pillow is called Bobby B. Said like the person who does the Whitney Houston parody on SNL.

Now, to think of a name for my sleeve. Hmmm.. It better be unique.

Ever since surgery I call my tummy my "baby tummy" because I literally easy like a baby lol. Even at work when I say I'm hungry, my Co workers say it's time to feed your"baby tummy" :)

I'm still pondering a name but nothing has come up and hit me in the head (or tummy).

It's darn hard to hold your own with Sleevie Wonder, which I adore.

And I had thought of Sleeve McQueen, which probably only about 10 of you have even heard of the reference. Steve McQueen was a hunky actor who died too young. I wouldn't mind having him mess with my tummy however, if I wasn't very happily married.

This thread is HILARIOUS. Loving it.

I'm not naming my little Sleevie anything else until I'm hit with a bolt of lightning. Maybe in the middle of the night. Look forward to a post at 3 a.m. or so.

For some reason Hubby and I have always referred to my sleeve as "my gullet" so I guess that's the nickname. Not very creative and charming but it is what it is...

Here's to loving my gullet!!!

Living the dream!!,

Laura

I'm thinking something like Rum Tum Tum, sorta like Rin Tin Tin and both even growl the same. And call it Rummy for short.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
