Valentine's Day Challenge!

In about seven short weeks, Valentine's Day will be here! Who's up for a challenge? With the holidays behind us and some of us making our goals and some of us falling a little short, I thought I might motivate us a little more by starting a new challenge. The New Year is at hand and we will all want to start off with a bang! This challenge is shorter than the previous two I have been involved with, so set your goals accordingly... I seem to set mine a little too high every time but it makes me work harder trying to reach it.

My stats for this challenge are:

SN: Forensikchic SW: 179 GW: 164 CW: 179 pounds to lose: 15

Upon reaching my goal I will be down 70 pounds overall!!!!! and only 30 more to goal!

Its time to kick that exercise in gear and get this show on the road! We want to be looking fly come summer time! Who's with me?

Slimming Sarah. I already consider you as making your goal. I know that muscle will add weight and therefore, hence, you are there. It's just muscle weight that will help you burn that excess fat a

I'm in!!!

I have a habit of setting the bar a little too high as well, but like you Forensikchick it tends to make me work harder. Plus, I bought my ticket to go see my friend in Germany at the end of March and I really want to rock this sleeve!

Ready to do this!

Thanks for starting a new challenge, Forensikchic! I'm going to be conservative in my goal because my weight is not coming off as fast now and I'm using my birthday of Feb. 8th as a hopeful date for my goal (but will give myself until Valentines if need be).

I'm in! I have four pounds to lose to get to a normal weight. I need some motivation since I haven't been working out as much lately due to the holidays.

Let's do this!!!

Thanks Forensikchic! I'm in!

My goal for Valentine's Day is based on losing another about 1.25 lbs. per week and arriving at GOAL one year after I began the pre-op diet and nine months post-surgery. I weight every day but I only log my weight on Fridays (except for the final challenge date) to keep myself sane.

My Valentine's Goal also includes reaching the following goals:

144: This was my Christmas goal and I've lost 110 lbs. (32 pre-op and 78 post op). 9 lbs. to my final goal!!!

142: I've lost 80 lbs. post-op

140: Fivelbs. to my final goal!!!

139: My number starts with 13. I haven't weighed this since the early-90s.

135: GOOOAAAL!

Valentine's Day:

This is my first challenge - but I am game to give it a try!

I really don't know what my rate of loss will be as I start transitioning to pureed, soft and then regular foods, but i am setting an aggressive target.

I'm not sleeved yet.

I missed my Christmas goal, so I was a bit more conservative this time. Hopefully I'll do better this time around...

Current weight - 225

Valentine goal - 215

Pounds to go - 10

I'm so in on this! I was really successful during the Christmas Challenge. I hope I'll be just as successful this time around smile.png. I am tempted to make my goal weight the Valentine's day challenge, but I was realistic for the Christmas challenge and I'll be realistic this time around too.

I should expect to lose weight much slower now than I did in the beginning.

EDIT: I'm going to make my goal a little lower. Why not? I'm changing it from 164 to 160 ;)

I made my xmas goal and now im closing in on my final goal. Who woulda thought id be closing in on my goal only 6 months out. I started my journy at 303lbs on my surgery date i was 273lbs and today i am 188lbs and have 8 more lbs to lose.

Hey All!

I am definitely IN! Now I fell a little short on the Christmas Challenge. My goal was 215 and I ended up at like 218.2. However, I weighed myself again just yesterday and it said 221.5 So, i'm goign to start with the higher number.

Starting Weight - 221.5

Goal Weight - 210.00

I decided to be a bit more conservative since i'm now going into 4 months out. Weight loss is slowing down a bit, but that puts me at losing aout a pound and 1/2 per week. I think that's doable.

Good luck everyone!

Today is my 11 month surgiversary. I am at a place I never dreamed I would be but still have a ways to go. The last 3 months have been a wash for me. No gain but very little loss. I am trying to be focused, logging my food, cutting out the carbs and getting in my proteins. I have set a modest goal for this challenge but would like to experience a success as the Halloween and Christmas challenges weren't a success in terms of getting to goal but as a social worker being strength based, were a success in terms of not gaining during this time either.
