I live in Upstate NY, between Buffalo & Syracuse, NY, but I travel to NYC to get my fills - My doctor's name is Brian L. Katz, his address is 1010 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10028 and his telephone number is (212) 879-6677. I personally love him. I had my surgery done in Mexico in Aug. 2003 and have been the NYC three times since for fills. Good Luck.

I had my surgery in Staten Island NY by a great doctor. I am sure he would do your fills.. he charges $110 a fill.

Thanks Barb. Laura, would you also post your surgeon's info? Is he at Staten Island University Hospital??

Oh...for both of you... do your docs do fills with fluoroscopy, without, or both? I think I need a fluoro and barium swallow, as it's been 1.5 years since I was filled at all. Need to check on the band. :D

Fab, My doc's name is Georger Ferzli.. he is not out of University hospital.. actually he does the surgery at Victory Memorial in Brooklyn. His office is on Cromwell ave in SI.. # is 718-667-8100. He does not do his fills by Floro. Hope this has helped.

Try Dr. Ren at NYU Medical Center. I believe she has some patients that had their surgery in Mexico.

Hi there,

how was your pregnancy with the Band? and how long after the band was out did you get pregnant?

I'll be banded on March 9, God Willing, and I'd like to get pregnant like a year after....any advice?

Thank you!

Sirine

Just had a great fill with Dory Ferraro. She's awesome and serves the NY/NJ area. I think she has a website called doryferraro.com.

Thanks everybody!! I'll check Dory out. I just had a fill yesterday with a guy in Jacksonville Beach, FL. He was sooo conservative that he'd only put 1.3 ccs in my Band. Needless to say, I have no restriction whatsoever. He said he'd consider adding more in two weeks. -Sigh- I'll be back in NYC in two weeks. Guess I wasted my $350 here!

Fabfatgrl, if you are still looking for a doctor or for a new one since you feel like the fill wasn't helpful, try contacting Dr. Marc Bessler at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. I'm not sure if he does just fills, but if he does he is absolutely wonderful. He's also one of the bariatric surgeons who was on Gov. Pataki's team when he was at Columbia.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
