Living life! I have the confidence to get rid of the people in my life that were holding me back. Quit a second job that I really didn't need so I can spend more time with my beautiful daughters. Life is good now. I really enjoy waking up everyday to see what the world is going to throw at me.

Good for you. I had hoped that I would gain for confidence in gettting rid of people who are holding me back but I think I need to find new people to share my life before I can muster the courage to rid myself of the negatives. So I'm working on that. I'm only months out so I'm trying to be kinder to myself now and realize moving forward in a healthy way is more important than doing it in a sprint and then realizing I made other mistakes as a result. I hope next year this time I can have posted your exact post.

There are several things I can do now that I could not or did not before my sleeve! First of all, I can walk in any store and find something cute to wear! I don't mind having my picture taken now. One of the most exciting things is when I "aquired" a collar bone, I love seeing it!! I'm in charge, food is not! Like somebody said, I now look on the outside how I've felt on the inside for years. Sex is a lot more fun now, it was good before, but I was always self conscious about how I looked. Not any longer. It's taken a while but I do know I'm small, even if I still feel like I have fat days. I use to think thin people said that just because, but it's true, some days, even though I know I'm thin, I will feel fat!! LoL

I can paint my toe nails. I can cross my legs, I can see my feet in the shower. Little stuff that I did not think about but now that I can do it, surprises me. I have lost over 50 lbs and feel terrific. I am going to the gym, have lost so many inches. I have my stalls, but that is when I lose the inches. I am feeling so much better over all. I questioned myself in the beginning but now have no doubts. I know this is still an on going process for me. I hope everyone else is doing well and do not get discouraged. Notice the little things in life.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
