Sleeve Guru,

I have the SAME questions! I was just approved by Humana. Having testing done Dec 1st, consultation with doc on Dec. 6th and will get the surgery date then. I'm PRAYING that it will get done before Jan. 1st because I've met my deductible and don't want to pay an extra $2000+!!! Plus I'm a teacher and will have 2 weeks to recooperate :) My goals are:

1. Follow sleeve rules

2. Exercise

3. Get off meds

4. Get off CPAP

5. Lower blood pressure

6. Not be pre-diabetic

7. Increase my energy

8. Like what I see in the mirror

9. Continue to be happy within

10. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE myself :)

I'm praying for you! Best of luck!

Good Luck, I wish you the best on your journey. I have United Healthcare .One Dr I went to gave me a surgery date, but his staff would not submit the papers I gave them (incl a letter from my Primary care Dr)until I could "document" yearly weights over at least 5 years. I waited a few mos. and they still never submitted the paperwork, even after I called them twice (Crazy, right?). So instead of fooling with them anymore, I went to a different Dr, his office submitted the letter from my primary care Dr and the other docs I had and I got approved in 4 days! Some offices know how to work the insurance paperwork. The first office was very busy and asked it I would self-pay if not approved, so maybe there was something else going on there. If one Dr office can't get the approval, I would try another.

wooooow. i cant imagine the stress you mustve been under! thats bananas! thats actually shocking because id think they would want the money! but i guess because they are so busy, maybe they didnt care.

thankfully, i have faith in my drs office. they seem to have it together. my nurse practioner who is the cordinater seems to be very hands on. but best to believe, if they start bs'ing me, ill move on to the next office. they are affiliated with another big hospital that does it & the staff goes back & forth between both hospitals. i pray all goes well.

At the time I was very ticked off, because I wanted to get it over with. But it ended up being a blessing. I had more time to do my research and fully understand my decision and the lifestyle change involved. Also, the 2nd Dr has a much better bedside manner; he is a very caring person. His staff is much nicer and they return calls promptly, too. Like they say, things happen for a reason.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
