Hey guys

Well it's been an interesting 3 months so far. I've gone from being sad and happy about my surgery like a yoyo and i now feel kinda stable :) I love that my body is changing i just can't stand the out of proportionis that i feel now I've lost quite a chunk of weight. Let me elaborate. I've lost weight in certain areas of my body where as others are lagging . Like my hips for example.

I know its strange for a dude to be talking about this but i can't seem to find clothes that fit just right lol. I know it's only temporary . I even , on my travels , got a pair of trousers for work tailored for me and now they are to big in some areas but not others >< . I know i have to be patient but I'm tired of taking ppi's too lol . i mean if i miss 2 days in a row i wake up feeling like death is at my door :P

Other than that I'm loving the journey and I'm going to begin my gym journey at the end of this month so hopefully i can transform a little faster and better .

Anyway as always wishing you all the best :)

Hi Brock! I know I went through a crazy amount of emotions all throughout my journey. I still do to this day! I think it's going to be years before I fully grasp how different I am in a matter of a years time.

I just wanted to let you know you're not alone. Hang in there! I'm glad to hear you're doing better though, and ever day will too. I also ended up with not fitting my pants correctly. I had to get that fixed, and now I'm just waiting for final healing and I will be much happier for it.

Good luck!

We go through so many changes in such a short amout of time, it tough to keep up mentally/emotionally! It sounds like you are doing really well oveall. One advantage of being a guy is that, now that you are starting the gym, you will probably get a really good pay off. Guys seem to be able to tone up those muscles really nicely. It will probably reshape those areas you aren't as happy about. Hang in there. I bet you will look smoking hot here soon!!!!

Great post! I too rode the roller coaster of emotions after the sleeve. You gotta wonder just what's going on inside with everything changing so much and so rapidly - it's perfectly normal - even for us guys.

The ill fitting clothes issue gets worse as you lose, now that extra inch of fabric that used to make those pants oh-so-comfy now make me look like I'm walkin' around with a loaded diaper on! I'm wearing like a medium and a half now - which doesn't exist, medium is just a tad too small and larges are too big, so I walk around with baggy clothes. I LIKE that problem :smile1:

mnb thanks for the inspiring vote of confidence :D

rootman i know what you mean I'm down to a large and a half lol . The large makes my love handles look like camel humps and the xl makes me look like I'm wearing bat wings so i can't wait to start the gym and see where it takes me. Its a better problem to have than insulin resistance! :D As for the roller coaster i'll try to enjoy the ride :D

Thanks guys

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
