So I'm 25 days post op and things are going well so far, today is my last date night with my husband before he leaves for 5 months for military reasons. I can't say much but its depressing and I know a big part of my support is leaving and I will miss him. The only good part in this I can see is I should (Hoping) that I'm smaller when I see him again. Anyways thats all I had to say, If anyone has gone through this before I would love to hear from you, or just helpful comments is great. sad.gif

I'm sorry hun!! I know it's incredibly frustrating when they leave, but you can use that time to focus on yourself and get used to your new tummy. My hubby went for training (it was only 30days) but in the time he was gone I lost 23lbs and 3 pant sizes, so needless to say he was incredibly shocked when he saw me when he got back. I used that time to myself to work on my fitness, and not to mention my grocery bill was only about 150 for the entire month. Idk if you guys have kids, but it was just me here, so we were able to save a little money :) Sending hugs your way!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
