At the clinic in Tijuana as I'm typing.

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I was sleeved yesterday by Dr. Almanza and lying in bed at the clinic as I am typing. It's been about 24 hous since my surgery and I am feeling much better now. Some people got really sick and continued to throw up most of the night but I was a lucky on and dry heaved twice today and that's all. Sorry for being kinda gross but im trying to give you details. First of all Almanza is Fine!!! He came in sat on our bed and talked with us. The administrator has been here both days Mr. Bendecort. However you spell his name and he is extremely nice. Everyone is here for you to give you Meds or anything you might need. The plans are that we will go to the recovery house tomorrow get X-rays etc. And hopefully go shopping. If anyone has any fear at all about coming here don't they have been wonderful. I'll update more later. Also I brought a heating pad and it has worked wonders. Everyone need to bring one it's a MUST.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
