What the others said - BUT I honestly think that swelling is the real culprit, as the stomach starts resuming it's "normal" activity the swelling makes what little gas is produced feel like a whole lot. I think the answer is just to wait it out, take whatever relives the immediate discomfort but it will just take time.

We all wish you the best and much success as you start your new adventure!

Thank you... But how do I get in all my Water and Protein Shakes if the gas occurs mostly when I drink?

Very, very slowly. As I stated, it WILL get better. Just keep sipping and sipping, the Protein is NOT all that important right now, the water IS. I don't hold to the "drink so many ounces per day" camp, I recommend that you drink enough so your are passing urine regularly and that it is clear to slightly tinted, not orange or (god forbid) brown.

That was the worst part for me was the gas pain. I had no other pain, but the gas. THAT IS NO JOKE!!!

Nothing really helped me, but time. I think it was like day 4 or 5 when it broke lose! Then I had diahrreah for a week! I was happy tho. It made me feel so much better to get that pressure off my stomach.

I hope you feel better. I know it will get better. Hang in there!

Kelly :)

I am on day two and everytime I sip it's like I am swallowing bubbles. I just have to take it very slow. It's 530 pm and I am almost finished with the first bottle of Water, not great nut at least I am getting some down between naps

Do you still have your IV? I had mine until the morning of day 3.

Do you still have your IV? I had mine until the morning of day 3.

I'm on day 6 post op and today has been my best day - I haven't used any gas x strips today.

I do have to take the pepcid 2 x a day - it helps.

No iv because I am home already. I just finished a

16.9 oz bottle of Water and I'm not done yet for today. Not bad for my first day home I guess?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
