Before I had my sleeve, I joined this site and read a lot about people not feeling hungry after being sleeved. I just completed my first week of solids today. I eat 3 meals a day, of course extremely small ones but I find myself getting hungry about 3 hours after I eat and sometimes have to add a 4th meal in. My meals consist of basically just Protein, like chicken, fish, turkey. Is this normal?? I am wondering why I feel hungry when many say they never feel hungry.

I feel hunger at 3 hours after I eat too. It does depend on what I eat. If I eat something like pork roast it will stay with me much longer than if I eat a slice of cantaloupe. But I definately feel hunger. I don't mind because if I want to disregard it, I can satifsy it by eating maybe 3 bites of food. I honestly think it would be a bad thing if I didn't feel hunger as I get caught up in work and stuff and would probably just forget. And I still fight to make sure I'm at my Protein levels so I need the reminder. But not all of us got that lack of hunger feeling.

There are days I feel hunger and days that I don't. I don't get it. I wonder if it's still "head" hunger messing with me on some days. But yeah, I do get hungry sometimes.

I don't think I have really had any hunger since I was sleeved. I am 12 weeks out now, and I do have head hunger, but as far as actual hunger pangs, I don't have any of that. I know some days I will come home from work (I work over nights, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM) and go to bed without even eating Breakfast. When I get up, I'm not really hungry, and I rarely eat at work. Before I was sleeved, McDonalds was my first stop on the way home! I couldn't even get home without almost perishing (or so I thought) from hunger. I usually have something to eat when I get up, because I know if I don't, my body will switch into starvation mode, and I won't loose anything for several days. And of course, I know that I need to eat to nourish my body. My hardest situation is making healthy choices. Since I can consume such a small quantity of food, I know it is essential that I make wise choices, and choose Protein over empty carbs. Not always an easy choice. I have been reading on the internet about foods that help to keep you satisfied, and many sources suggest being sure to eat enough lean protein foods, high Fiber foods and foods that contain a high content of Water. All of these are supposed to keep you feeling more satisfied than some of the other things that are out there. Hope you can work through this!

I've been able to add in some more solids this month and I am eating more "normal" meals (albeit itty-bitty meals). I think I am starting to feel the normal hunger cycle (if I eat lunch at noon, by 5:30-ish I am feeling a bit of hunger). It's nothing that consumes me or makes me want to tear into a bag of chips or Cookies, though. Just my body telling me it's time to "fuel up." :)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
