List of things I am sick of because of my weight.

Recommended Posts

... Rubbing my belly on the steering wheel even though I was already so far back my feet could barely touch the pedals...

Had a funny moment this noon. Went out to my van and absent mindedly sat in the drivers seat and poked the seat memory button and the seat wouldn't budge. I fussed with it a few times before I realized it WAS already in the right position. The 6+ inches from the wheel to my belly was with the seat already pulled forward. I had just never noticed it before and actually got out of the drivers seat WITHOUT putting the seat full back and down.

God, I love this sleeve.

I am sick of going to my regular PCP and having these skinny girls that weigh me. I then feel like an idiot because deep down I know they are judging me.

Ah yes. I had one doctor who was a weight snob and so was his staff. He was one of those: "I don't believe in meds or weight loss surgery because you are just lazy and eat like a pig." doctors. I was going to him almost daily and they would weigh me every FREAKING day.

He also gave my daughter a Hep B shot when I requested Hep A and he was a cruddy doctor to boot.

These posts are great and oh so true. I feel the same way about those flimsy white plastic lawn chairs, lol Being obese becomes a way of life, you start to automatically accept and know the things that you can't do. Thanks to the sleeve we know longer have to accept being a second class citizen.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
