Week 2--What are you having

Recommended Posts

I'm still allowed just full liquids, which to my doc means strained Soups, cream of wheat (watered down with milk), Greek Yogurt, and SF pudding.

At my 2 week check-up, which is Tuesday, a day prior to my actual 2 week mark, I will get cleared to move to mushies. I can't wait. Liquids aren't filling me up as much as I expected them to.

Oh, and I drink Protein shakes between meals.

Kami, we are the same! My diet of full liquids is exactly what you mentioned, except I don't like yogurt and I have a SF popsicle every day. And we have the same surgery date! How are you feeling? I also have an appt with my surgeon this Tues, but I only get to advance to pureed diet then, for 2 weeks, then soft/mushies for another 2 weeks, then regular. Can't wait.

Right now, at 10 days out, I live on cream of wheat with skim milk, creamy Tomato Soup, SF chocolate pudding, SF popsicles, and 2 Protein Shakes with skim milk per day. Hope this helps

I'm feeling great actually. Other than being a bit weaker than usual, I couldn't say that I feel at all like I had major surgery 10 days ago! I wish I could say that my hunger has gone away, but sadly it hasn't. It's gone down tremendously, but the head hunger has been a bit of a nuisance. I'm ok when I get sweet cravings, as I'll have some of my Calcium chews (a caramel chew with a cup of Decaf french vanilla tea is yummy!) but when I get pizza or Mexican food cravings, its just downright sucky. I can't wait until I can have refried beans! And pureed chili! It will be a little tricky since I"ll be back at work starting Tuesday, but I'll figure it out.

How are you doing?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
