So I was sleeved on May 2 and am down a solid 50 lbs. I feel so much better and have more energy but...I have not lost an ounce for almost 2 weeks. I have 30 more I want to drop and the scale is just not moving. I have tried upping my carbs and calories and lowering my carbs and calories but nothing seems to work. I do Zumba 3-5 times a week and swim a mile once or twice a week as well. I am fitting into my old size 12 pants, which is great but I want to be a loose 8. I was hoping to be able to wear my cheerleading outfit from high school for Halloween but at this rate...that's not happening. I am just feeling discouraged. I have tried to keep up a good attitude for the last few weeks but being stuck here at 170 is driving me nuts. Any one else have a nasty stall at 4 months out?? I will be 4 months tomorrow. Last month I did lose 10 pounds during the whole month...but still. Any advice, encouragement and "this is what happened to me" stories are very welcome.

Thanks,

Laura

I have never had a stall, but my total weight loss for the month of May (5 months post-op) was 4 lbs. I did not give up hope, but persisted in low-carb and dropped 9 lbs in June, 6 lbs in July, and 8 lbs in August. Just keep to your plan and you should be fine. Are you doing a food journal of some sort? I find it really helps me figure out what's going on.

I am were you are I have been at a stall for 1 month I am 4 mo out as well I jazzercise 3x's a week and I do track my food I have been a slow looser through this whole process but now nothing I know personally for me I was at this weight for a long time before I gained so I am starting to think this is a comfortable weight to my body also being you didn’t have much to lose (under 100) as I did it does seem like it takes longer to drop. Good Luck keep pushing we will get through this !!! :)

I was sleeved May 9th and much like you have not lost much in the past month! I think the closer we get to goal the harder it is for us. I have lost 103lbs, 55 lbs was pre-op and I feel great at 177lbs. However, I too would like to get to my goal of 165 lbs. or less.

I don't lose anything for days and days! It is devistating when you do all the right stuff and NOTHING happens on the scale!! I believe that I still lose inches tho. Are you measuring yourself. I am not, but know because of the way my clothes fit.

I have learned that I have to up my calories a bit when I exercise more or I WONT lose. So, I make sure to do that. I drink my Water and take my supplements faithfully. I have to keep on keepin' on cuz we can't quit with the sleeve. I can't just say screw it and go eat a pizza!! LOL

I believe it is just harder the smaller we get. I am in an 8 and think it just takes more diligents now! Don't give up, it WILL happen for us!

Hugs,

Kelly ;)

I am a week behind you, on May 9. I noticed when walking this morning (which I don't do routinely at home - too boring and hot at home in socal, but much more pleasant when I visit the central cal coast with beach and forests available) that I could barely get my pulse above 100 when walking as fast as one can walk without breaking into a jog/run (which my knees do not like.) Only a couple of months ago I could easily get my pulse up into the 120-130 range (my nominal 80% level) with a similar pace of walking. So, you may be seeing a lower level of exertion in your swimming and Zumba without realizing it. I swim routinely also, but haven't really been checking my heartrate lately while doing it - will try to remember to do that when I swim this afternoon.

Changing exercise routine is another common suggestion for breaking stalls; you may have already gotten too comfortable with your current regimen.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
