Recommended Posts

I'm just under 5'2". I started my milk diet today. I'm already starving. I bought tons of microwaveable dinners from costco so my boys can cook for themselves. This is going to be a very long 2 weeks.

hang in there ,,, i was luckly my doc put me on phedrene for the pre-op diet and it totally curbed my appetite... also the preop diet is what you will be on following surgery for the first few weeks so its good to practice... after surgery diet you do not get as hungry however so its easier ... at least thats been my experience....:o

My boys said they hope I don't "zombie out" and randomly start eating. They did offer to find me a Hannibal Lecter mask, if needed. Teenagers!

@ Savinggrace - Thank you!

@ Peguinlover - Thanks! Fortuntely my surgery got moved up one week. I am having the prodecure done on Monday, the 12th!

@ Krystle - Thanks for the info. I feel ready.

I will not hesitate to take more time off from work, if need be.

@ Amy - I will check out some youtube videos. That is a good suggestion about the mouth spray. I will add that to my list. Thanks.

I hope I don't end up with too many incisions.

Today I completed my first day of Clear liquids. It was rough but I got through it. Each day I get a step closer. I can't wait!

If I may add my first post, I'm also getting sleeved Sept. 19. Just got cleared by my GP with the bloodwork and EKG. My surgeon is Dr. Mayes at Virginia Hospital Center. He only requires a 7 day pre-op liquid diet, but I'm starting tomorrow, to help the liver shrink a bit more.

Hi Lisa! We have a few things in common. I am located in NYC also. My suregery is on Monday too. Best of luck to you!

My timeline:

Pre-testing: 9/1/11

Pre-op diet: 9/7/11 (5 days of liquids)

Surgery: 9/12/11

I will find out the time of the surgery tomorrow night.

Maroon, that is great that you are starting the liquid diet early. The 19th is right around the corner. Good luck and keep us updated.

Well, just found out that after I left the doctor today, he found a slight abnormality on the EKG, so I have to go for a stress test Monday. Hope that they don't find anything.

Oh wow. I hope everything works out!

I had my testing done on the 1st...EKG, chest x-ray, and blood work. I hope my results come back ok.

When did you have the EGK done?

Thank you for the tips. You have been very helpful. This is my first surgery so I am a little nervous. I think I have a clear understanding of what to expect now, though. I also looked at a few surgery videos on youtube.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
