Hello everyone

I finally decided to register for the site after the lastfew months of just stopping by.

I started myadventure around December/January this year and have taken forever. Most of myissues came when my insurance company let me know they were missing thingsafter they get submitted but oh well I guess that’s the way they are. I couldgo down a long list of problems I had in the process but needless to say I havemy procedure on 8/23/2011 @ 0800. Sometimes I feel I want to jump forward intime to have it all done and be skinny again and able to go running and then Iwake up lol.

I have been on the liquid diet my Doctor put me on for twoweeks which was broth, sugar free popsicles, sugar free Jell-O, juices, and notto forget my Protein Shakes which is 52g @ 320cal twice a day. I have messed upand ate some chicken noodle Soup 3 times and a couple bites of cottage cheese, but all in all I’m hoping its ok, granted after that I’m thinking to myself “didyou really need that”.

Still two more days plus a couple days in hospital, thenvacation for two weeks if we can call it a vacation L

Hi there! You get sleeved the day before me! I also started early Jan, and the process was slower than I would have liked, but that was due to some well, incompetence on the part of my surgeon's staff.

There's a sub-forum for August Sleevers, you should stop in:

http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/forum/106-august-2011-sleevers/

And the liquid diet sucks. I have a 2 week pre-op liquid diet and I'm so ready for the post-op when I get a few extra's (creamy Soup, yogurt, yum!)

Morning All

Hi Kami, I hope all goes well

Guess its off to Walmart to find me something for the next couple days along with some slippers or something to wear.

On a side note I wish I had read closer about the Stntrax packets having no fat or carbs sooner and almost the same Protein. I would have ordered a sampler sooner and probably lost a few more pounds, better late than never I guess.

I could probably look through here and find this but how long did most wait till they went bike riding or exercising, a week?

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
