First sleevers, how is everyone doing?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved August 2nd, have lost 12lbs since, most of that in about 5 days. I've been at the same weight now for 5 days. I think it's likely a stall. Blah! I was hoping to get 2-3 weeks of solid loss first, but it's not like I have control. I just follow the plan and what happens, happens. I did expect it to be slow since I lost 53 lbs pre op. Hope y'all are doing well and feeling good.

I was also sleeved on Aug. 2nd. I lost very slow at first but seems to be picking up. I'm now 13.1. No problems except overdid at first. Waiting on muscle or scar tissue to settle down then back to exercising. Much better day today.

I was sleeved on the 8th, I have lost whatever it says in my ticker ( 7 ish lbs I think) which seems to be pretty slow but I have just been weighing around a week now so pretty good for one week. I will take it! I have been pretty exhausted with so few calories - on a good day I hit 300, highest I've reached Protein wise is 38 - it sits so heavy right now. Can't wait till Tuesday to get the OK to eat some meats and eggs and get some protein in that way. I imagine that will help a lot. I did lose 28.6 pre-op and have under 100 to lose now but I am short at 4'11'' so I think might % is probably similar to a lot of others.

Hi Everyone. I'm doing good besides the pain from the pulled internal stitches. Remember that just because you feel really good doesn't mean you are completely healed from all of the stuff they cut and pulled on and tugged around on in there. The only other problem I'm having is being able to tolerate the Protein. Is it just me or could they make it taste any worse. I added some chocolate Syrup to my chocolate Protein shake and it made me sick so I WILL NOT do that again.

I have done pretty good with the weight loss so far, Still have a lot to go but I am only two weeks and one day out and didn't really expect it to disappear overnight since it took ten years to get there.

I hope everyone is doing well with their recovery as well.

I have been doing one bullet that is 6 oz (3 oz. early, and 3 oz few hours later). It is 42 grams Protein. I haven't read a lot about them on here so don't know if it is good or not. I just couldn't get in all the protein from the shakes, it took me all day long. Does anyone use them? I think the one I have is 160 calories, but I try to get some more protein from egg salad or something. And Julie you are so right. I overdid, walking, WII, Exercising legs in pool til I was right back in the bed. It has taken me 4 days to get the pulled/twisted scar tissue or muscle back settled down. One thing I did do was visit my local seafood restauant who fixed me up with some crab bisque Soup. I froze that and some fresh broccoli soup in plastic ice cube trays. Once they were frozen I just popped them out and put in a plastic bag. I used the crab bisque soup to put with my grilled fish to make it very moist. I can only eat about my 2 oz. shot glass with the fish and bisque mixture. I still haven't developed the taste for chicken or hamburger meat yet. My body will only eat a tiny piece of fish and I love the cottage cheese with a little splenda on it. Any other tips?

Thanks! Today has been the best day so far this last week. Went shopping with my daughter and we had fun. Not so nauseous today thank goodness but still have to be very careful when I eat or drink.

Lost inches even tho I have not lost weight recently so I am happy with that!

Hi Everyone! I was sleeved on the 1st and have lost 21 pounds so far. I have found that using the egg Protein Jay Robb mix is the answer - at least for me - i could not tolerate the whey protein. It taste mild and has no sick after taste. I have the vanilla and chocolate and use high protein milk (fat free) and greek yogurt to make one Protein Drink a big impact on my protein count. The protein is 24 g for one scoop, 12g for 1 cup of milk and another 2.9g for 2 tablespoons for the greek yogurt. I am only to the pureed stage so i have pureed chicken and added it to some black Beans - it does not look pretty but it is nice to have something that is not sweet. I add hot sauce to it too. I still am making sure to drink plenty of fluids, but the "not drinking" while eating could be the hardest part of this entire procedure/lifestyle!

I found i could not do the Isopure after surgery due to the taste and consistancy and that was really the only way i was going to get protein during my Clear Liquids - i just could not do it and at my post op begged for the fat free high protein milk to make my shakes. After that, i have been able to get the 70g+ of protein. I was so glad a friend had told me about the egg white protein as an alternative to the whey - giant difference!

I hope this helps some of you, i think the taste is so much better. They have little packets to try without commiting to a big container.

I wish you all good luck!

Crab bisque Soup sounds so good. Might have to do that too! :D

Just be careful! I had lobster bisque and got so ill. It was delicious, yes, but I think all the fat was too much for my new tummy that had been used to low fat and carbs for months.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
