It is so funny that you brought this up! I bought a pair of duty shoes (white nurses shoes) about 2 years ago. I didn't try them on at all. They were same style and size as the work shoes I was currently wearing. When I got home and put them on to go to work, they KILLED my feet they were so small! I said bad words about the company changing the style, skimping on the size, etc. Now that I am down 64 pounds since my surgery, I find that I can get them on quite comfortably! In fact I wore them to work the other night for the first time. I never thought of my feet as "FAT", but obviously I have lost some fat in my feet as well as other places! I am still a size ten shoe, but wow, do they ever fit better!

My friend who is 1 year out and down 100 pounds went from an 11 to a 9!

A lot of my shoes are feeling big on me. I've been a 8.5-9, but expect to be at 7.5-8 when all is said and done. That's where I was many moons ago. The problem now is I don't want to buy new shoes if my feet might get smaller too!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
