I am a little over 2 weeks out. I am still on full liquids until tomorrow. I have my first post-op appt. I have not had any vomiting or nausea. However, I am HUNGRY. Not head hunger but real physical hunger. I am slowly learning it will not kill me. I do tire easily and have been napping at least once a day. I get 60-70g of Protein in a day. I am getting about 800 calories a day. I am anxious to move onto mushies.

4 weeks out and have lost 15 pounds. It was 19 - but regained 4. For the last week, I have been holding steady at the 15 pound loss. Kind of disappointed in that. Otherwise doing well though. I still do a Protein Shake a day to make sure I get enough in. But, I'm getting more chicken and fish in now which helps. Technically, I'm still on soft foods until the 28th when I see the surgeon again.

I'm late calling "PRESENT!" but I'm here too! Had my surgery July 14, and am 4 weeks out tomorrow. My weight loss is going AWESOME! I've been busy, and we went on vacation last weekend with 15 of our closest friends, so I haven't been around much! Vacation was great, everyone cooked out Friday night, burgers and dogs. Since beef is still a bit of a hard task for my sleeve to handle, I thought ahead and brought chicken, watermelon, and cottage cheese for me for the weekend. We spent an entire day on the river... it was so nice. I'm down 46-48 pounds depending on which scale I get one (ha!) and am absolutely ECSTATIC about that! I've still not had any nausea or vomiting, and my left side pain is FINALLY gone. My sleeve and I have an understanding. I will put lots of Protein enriched foods in it, and then I get to have a Breyers 3 carb chocolate fudge bar in the evening. If you haven't tried them, they are AWESOME! I'm so busy during the day that I haven't realy developed a routine, and scheduled my meals. I will have to start soon with school going back into session in a couple of weeks though! Hope everyone is doing great, and good luck to all the upcoming surgeries in August! It's the best thing you will ever do!!

I don't know my way around this BB very well apparently.. I didn't even know this post was here until just now! I was sleeved on the 29th of July. I didn't weigh myself until I went to the Dr. for my 2 week check up on the 11th, at that time I was 14lbs down from my day of surgery. I probably won't weigh myself again until I go to my next appointment on Aug. 25th. I am trying to focus on doing things right, following all the rules and not worry so much what the scale says. I followed the all liquids diet until my Dr. advanced me to pureed foods on the 11th. So far I'm not having any trouble eating my Proteins, but I am really sick of Protein drinks!!! I still feel shaky at some point during the day, almost as if my blood sugar is low. I am trying to just work my way through it. I go back to work on Monday so hopefully this shaky feeling will go away before too long. Over all I'm feeling pretty good. Best of luck to all the July Firecrackers, I look forward to keeping in touch!

Hey Carmen,

I have been taking Viactiv for my Calcium, they are chewable and chocolate! My doc recommended them.

I have been told that until our tummies heal completely (proly when we go on solids) every pill larger than birth control has to be chewed or crushed, many of my nurses that are years out still take their pills in a chewable form, depends on what your pouch can handle.

Hi Carmen,

I will be 3 weeks out on Thurs. So I eat egg and chees for Breakfast.....soup and crackers for lunch........fish and potatoe for dinner and greek yogurt or cottage cheese at nite.....of course I switch things up and this is not everyday. But I got on Livingstrong.com....my plate section. Then I track what I eat and if I need a boost of Protein I will drink a muscle milk or something...but my goal everyday is not to drink the Protein shake crap! My big challenge is to eat those chewable Calcium 3 times a day....from the pit! When have you all been told we don't have to crush pills or take Vitamins and such in chewable form? Help...I hate chewables! Tracy w

Hi msmomof3,

I was told specifically NOT to use Viactiv....it tates great but if you check out the Calcium it uses it is a carbonate not a citrate form of calcium. I was so bummed because it tastes so good.....good news....on celbrate vitamins.com you can get the same kind of chewable chocolate or lemon bites. They are called "chewy bites" I ordered some and am awaiting them! God Bless, Tracy W.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
