Hi Everyone,

I went to see my surgeon and got my first fill. Down 30 pounds now - woohoo!! :cool: I only got 1cc because I was worried about being to tight but realised I should have let him do more. I have absolutely no restriction still. I talked to him today and I am going back in on Monday and getting another fill. He has me drink Water after the fill. Will I know if the second fill is good enough with water?? Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi Kathy,

I just had my third fill (I am at 2.0 in a larger band), and I still do not feel much restriction. It gets frustrating, but I am trying to stay upbeat until I get to what my Dr. calls my "happy place".

From all I have read here and heard, it is very different for everyone. Congratulations on your 30 pounds!

I just don't understand why all doctors do not do the fills under the flo. I know for sure if I'm tight or need more since the doctor and I can see me drink the ummy berry stuff. (NOT) then be adjusted up or down

My first fill was good and then I stopped losing and had my 2nd fill the day before I started. I did not stay full for long but I believe it was do to the fact I was getting ready to start.???

But every doctor is different and they have there own way of doing things!

My 3rd fill is awesome:}

I think it is my sweet spot but I'm tight. I've been tight since March.

You might ask???

Hi,

You know, I did ask my doctor (Kurian) why she doesn't do fills using fluoro, and it is her opinion that it is a deceiving (her word) practice because it only shows the passage of liquids and not solid food. I'm so happy for you that you are really starting to experience some real restriction. And away you go!!

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
      Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

      Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
