Wrinkles on the Face

Recommended Posts

I am five months past surgery, and am happy to be 79 pounds lighter. The first place I always lose is my face. Now, when I smile - not only do I have crows feet going up from the corners of my eyes, I have a set of parallel wrinkles (think of small pleats) going down from the corners of my eyes over the tops of the "apples" of my cheeks.

I realize more wrinkles are inevitable as I lose weight in my face. And, I still have 40 pounds to lose, so more will be showing up. My question is, is there any skin care product that really help with this? That could significantly improve the elasticity?

I currently use Oil of Olay and Estee Lauder products, and am pleased with the way my skin feels.I only wish it wasn't so lose and wrinkly.

In the grand scheme of things, this is a nit - but I thought someone on the site might have a good idea.

Thanks

Sharon

Unfortunately, there aren't any products that will take care of it. (Anything that says it does is selling false advertisement.) Stinks, doesn't it?

I have wrinkles like you described, and others crosshatching those like a checkerboard! I was always the one people said had perfect skin....not any more! I knew this was coming, at least the wrinkles wont kill me like the fat could!ohmy.gif

That's what I thought, but I hope someone might have found something. I would rather have a face that looked like a cotton shirt left in the dryer overnite, than to have a wrinkle free face for people to comment on when they passed by my casket. Kind of morbid comment - but I am reacting to a friend from highschool (a year younger than me) that passed away yesterday.

So sorry about your friend!

Drink lots of Water, dehydration doesn't help... I use glycolic acid products to keep the top layer of skin looking good, and wear your sunscreen... I whiten my teeth, buy new makeup now and then for fun, and make sure I have a good haircut. Those things always make me feel better about how I look from the neck up!

I agree with the statment that nothing really helps. I was genetically predispositioned for good skin, thank goodness - and I've always stayed out of the sun and never smoked. That said, my cheeks have that hollowed out, sunken look now if I'm not smiling, along with the "marrionette lines" along my nose. I'm 50 and the elasticity is going, going, gone. I use Olay Regenerist products and love them for how my skin feels, so I'm sure what you're using is probably just as good if not the same thing.

I'm already planning on having some fillers done to my face as soon as I can afford it. I found a wonderful Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon that just did some body work for me, and the outcome is amazing, so I'm sure he will do wonders for my face. I love being thinner, but I don't like my face looking like someone is trying to starve me. My neck is the worst though - chicken neck all the way. Not sure when or if I'll deal with that, but I'll probably wait untl I'm a bit older.

I'm sorry about your friends passing - it does make us stop and questions things, huh?

maybe the wrinkles on your face has something to do with you losing so much weight. you can ask your dermatologist about it. you can also try NeuCell anti-wrinkle cream. and maybe this also part of your aging? how old are you by the way?

There's no overnight cure, but I've read several articles on the benefits of lotions and/or mineral supplements that contain copper. Copper works as a tissue strengthener not just for joint support, but for skin as well. Nature Made's hair, Skin, and Nails formula contains active copper, as well as some Neutrogena face products as well. You don't really want to ingest active copper alone because too much can be bad for you, but this might be a place where you can start.

There's also skinbrushing, or dry brushing. Look it up on the internet because it has several other health benefits as well. It ALL might be a bunch of BS and the effects not that dramatic, but trying SOMETHING will just boost your consciousness and your esteem. At least that's what I hope it will do for me, if it won't make me look like Jennifer Lopez.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. . . . but that is sad when they die so young. . . it wasn't a morbid thought at all, like you said it was a reaction. . . a morbid thought would be my though about why i did this surgery. . . so that when i die, i could fit into a normal sized casket and have only 6 pallbearers and not 10 or 12 cause i was sooooo hugh. . . ugh I need a shrink! hehehe

I'm going to be 49 this year and have excessively dry skin.....my face flakes off in the winter and looks kind of puckery :( have battled it for a while but just found Bio Oil at Walmart. $12 and this stuff has saved me! I have a microderm abrasion thingy that I pretty much had to use every-other day and now I'm down to using it strictly for exfoliation rather than preparation for makeup.

And as a bonus, I'm using it on my belly incisions to fade them out as well :)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
