Had my first PB, whoo hoo I'm a real bandster!

Recommended Posts

Yes, I learned. I'll slow down and take smaller bites from now on. I had a piece of sushi and it got stuck. I didn't know what to do and I could hardly breath so I took a sip of Water and ....up it came. It was interesting but I had a good laugh thinking about all the other friends out there that have "lost it" in funny situations. Boy did it come up fast and whooo slimy. Anyway, I guess its official now. I go in for my first fill on the 17th so I'll be ready and S.L.O.W.I.N.G.....D.O.W.N. Thanks for listening.

Be careful with a first fill. If you're already having restriction and a PB with no fill, you might be one of the lucky few who doesn't need a restriction. As long as the weight is coming off, you might want to reconsider a fill.

Hi Elisabeth, the weight loss has stopped for me. I just ate 2 turkey tacos and still have no restriction. I am looking forward to gaining that Monday. Thanks!

Well, you did it. The first one is always a doozie. If it weren't for LBT, I'd have DIED the first time that happened! Thankfully, I knew what was going on. I hope you avoid it for a looong time! Careful with that fill. If you can eat 2 turkey tacos, it's not your fill level, it's the sushi. I have heard lots of folks haing trouble with sushi. I haven't tried it since banding, so I guess it's on my "not worth it" list of foods to avoid? I like it, but not THAT much! Congrats! LOL

Wow, I wish I felt like celebrating with a "whoo hoo" after my first PB. Mine was on scrambled egg and lasted for 6 hours. Ya, that was bad. It also seriously irritated my esphogus, for which I'm still taking Nexium. Combine that with a jerk-off doctor who OBVIOUSLY didn't listen and gave me a fill instead of an unfill, a weekend of not being able to swallow my own spit, and then, finally the unfill I requested (!) . . . As you can imagine I'm scared to try another fill and am now struggling with weight loss by straight up dieting.

I keep telling myself that as soon as this chest pain from the esophogitis is under control I'll go in for a small fill, but honestly, I'm not sure I can go through another PB like the first one.

I guess if I had had your PB, I would be saying "whoo hoo" too. Lucky girl.

My one and only (thus far...I know myself well)...was on Church's Fried chicken on the 4th of July! Lucky for me, it was nothing severe. like Donna had...in fact it was fairly simple, as soon as I decided Ok it's gotta come back up!!! I didn't eat anything else, I just drank, and then ate simple the next day, but I didn't fight it for long, and hadn't ate much, so I didn't irritate things too much I guess. Glad yours wasn't serious like poor Donna's either. Reading that reminds me to be very cautious!

Good Luck!

Kat

I also just had my first pb experience. We were in the Bahamas and I was having a pina colada....it was melting fast so I ate the cherry fast (in order to save room before the Myer's floater ran down my hand). I stared off for a while and then decided to go to the restroom. I quite literally had a burp and up came the cherry. A little slime but no big deal. I went back to the bar, finished my drink and ate my lunch. I'm scared of the all day pbing the I've read about.

I have a PB at almost every meal. You'd think I would have learned to slow down and chew, chew, chew by now!!!!!! I live with a pack of wolves (or so you'd think if you saw my family eat), so it is very hard to eat slow! I have to keep up with my kids, you know!

The funniest thing is hearing my 4 year old tell me he's "stuck"! I will stop eating, put the napkin to my mouth, and just close my eyes. He says, "are you stuck? Me too, mommy" - like he even know what it means!!!...but it is cute!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
