Hello everyone... I am a newbie, first I will tell you a little bit about me! I am 26 years old I have struggled with my weight almost all my life. I am married and have a beautiful daughter she is 4 years old. I am pretty much happy in my life, i have a wonderful husband and the most adorable daughter i can ever wish for.. but my only problem is my weight, it was always a problem for me, when everything else was good, my weight factor would create a problem for me.

I searched the 3 different types of WLS and I never liked the bypass, i was considering the lapband but I heard so much negatitive more then positive with the lapband, so I searched and read so much about the sleeve and i decided this is the right tool for me.

I started the process august of last year, I wasnted 100% commited to it thats why it took almost a year now to get my surgury date, with is JULY 25th 2011. yayyyy!!! Im so excited and nervous at the same time. My surgeon is Dr. Bonville, when i first met him i knew he was the surgeon for me, to make a long story short which i feel i spoke to much :)

I am 1 week pre op and my surgeon only has a 1 day liquid diet before surgury, but i decided i wanted to do a full week of liquid diet. I am wondering what a liquid diet consits of? I dont know exactely what i have to drink if its only Protein shakes or crystal light?? please anyone help me or guide me, im so confused and any help will be greatly appreciated.:D

Welcome to the forums! Congratulations on making the decision and getting your date! That is awesome!

Every surgeon is different in their requirements for food plans. Follow the directions that your surgeon gives you as they know what is best for their practice.

When I was on my pre-op diet, I could have Protein shakes as well as "real food" items like salads. That made it more bearable. A full liquid only diet would consist of clear fluids - Water, crystal light, Isopure, broth, sugar free jello; as well as liquids that would fit through a straw - milk, yogurt, Protein Shakes, pureed Soups, etc.

Hi there cantwait1. We share the same surgery date so I guess that makes us sleeve-sisters. Welcome to the forum. My surgeon requires a two-week liquid diet which consists of Clear Liquids and full liquids but the day before surgery, I am on a clear liquid diet. Did your surgeon specify which diet... clear or full?

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
