Mushies Too Soon and the 30 30 30 Rule

Recommended Posts

I think I was advanced to mushies too soon, I feel very nauseaus after eating and feel like hell. I think I am going back to liquids for now. Anyone else run into this.

The 30 30 rule - wow that is going to be a tough one, its hard not to have a sip when eating. This will be another big challenge once I go back to mushies.

Until then I am in nausea city.

At Kaiser Fremont, our plan recommends returning to full liquids or Clear Liquids for a day or two if anything upsets your tummy,

Try adding one new food per day so you can judge whether it is bothering you.

Stop as soon as you feel full: When I first started soft foods, I overate and had a tummy ache. I just assumed I could eat a couple of ounces. Now that I quit as soon as I feel full, even if it is only an ounce, I feel much better.

Be more careful in the morning: I (and others on the list) have problems with many foods early in the day. I can eat them later, but at Breakfast I cannot.

Hope you are feeling better soon. The first few weeks are the hardest!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
