Hi, to all my other May sleevers out there. So everyone should be at or close to their two months surgiversary. Congratualtions!!! I hope everyone is doing well and on the right track to feeling back to normal. I just wanted to post this so everyone could share their own update and also any down falls they have had. We are all new to the process and can share in the new sleeve experience together. I have been keeping a pretty detailed blog, 1 monthly, of my stats including weight loss, sizes, inches and personal notes if anyone is looking for more information. So good news I am 10 weeks out and down 41lbs. Yippee!! Can't wait to see what another two months will bring.I am attaching a pic from back in January at my heaviest of aroun 273lbs. My best friend and I were on our way back from the chili bowl and oh my do I look horrible. I am sure I can show a better pic of me, but this is a full body shot I found which is rare. Plus I dont want to disguise how big I really was. The second pic is just of last week before going out with friends. 40+ lbs. makes a differnce.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
