How often do you shop for new clothes???

Recommended Posts

I think the bigger the size you are the longer you can wear certain sizes. I literally have a closet full of 4x tops, with a couple 3x, and some of them are huge on me and I am ready to toss out and others a fitting nicely now. Still can't wear a 3x t shirt I have. I have lost 64 lbs and wearing bascially the same sized clothes still. I did throw out all my old bras and am wearing ones now that used to be tight on me.

I am guessing I will have to go down quite a bit more before I can actually drop sizes. It is so hard to gauge. The two pair of jeans I have are too baggy on me now and I am very hesitant to buy any more becuase they can be costly.

I shop as often as I possibly can lol jk. I do try to buy a couple things here and there and usually buy clearance for now, I hate the thought of spending $ on stuff and only being able to wear it a short while. I was at Walmart yesterday and they had some cute stuff for $7 on clearance. I live in a remote area so Walmart is usually a daily trip for groceries or meds, so I will take a quick look at the clearance racks. And we don't have much more than Walmart close by. Not even Goodwill or Salvation Army, so I don't do the thrift stores often. If I want to go to a Mall, I am 50-60 miles away, but that's probably a good thing lol. I can see me easily becoming addicted to shopping. I LOVE Kohls!! I can't wait till I reach goal, I am gonna really enjoy shopping at all my fav places as a normal size!

I had someone on this board send me clothes for free, and I paid her shipping, which was totally awesome and helped me a lot! (thanks SarahS). I think there is a clothes exchange thread on this forum, which is cool cuz we can kinda swap around till we reach goal.

I'm in a new size every 4 weeks ro so. The top is shrinking faster than the bottom :-) I mostly shop at Sears for clothes - lots of stuff on sale and their slacks fit me really well. I get 2 pairs of slacks for work and I try to buy them snug becuase they will last an extra week that way.

I buy bras at Kohls because they have a good selection of large-cup size bras and they are CHEAP compared to other stores. I buy my underwear at the Gap. Surprisingly, their cotton underwear is the best. I try to get everything on sale and pick up as much as I can. I even buy one size smaller if I find a great sale because I know I will be wearing it soon and I want to make the best use of my money.

Whatever you do, don't spend a lot of money on clothes right now - you will be throwing them away after a few weeks. It seemed like it took a long time for me to shrink out of my clothes in the beginning, but once it started it has been insane. Insane in a good way :-)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
