Recommended Posts

Im 11days post-op. Right now I was drinking Water and choked. The middle of my stomach I think above an incision had a STRIKING BUT I MEAN STRIKING HURTFULL PAIN, which went away when i was done choking. Im scared i pulled something. Ive been so careful not to mess with my incision or upset my new sleeve. Is it possible we can tear our new sleeve line 1week out? Has anyone experienced this type of thing before? Maybe Im freaking out for nothing? Please any advice would make me feel better : /

I did the same thing about 2 weeks out!! Not choking, but I sneezed. OH MY GOODNESS!! IT hurt so badly!! I definatly knew I did something because I instantly felt pain!! It was in my biggest incision and then it stopped.

For several days and maybe even a week or so it burned and would get really bad pain in there, like something was wrong. My dr. assured me that I pulled an internal stitch and that I would be fine!

Hope you are too!! ;)

I'm not sure what happen with your choking. I'm glad you are okay. I thought I might throw in my two cents. This may be a reason you had that pain. Only guessing but I thought the information I received from my post op appointment was kind of interesting.

The incision where the stomach was pulled out for me is located to the left of my belly button and just above it (when i look straight down).I was told at my first post op appointment that there is actually an internal Incision through a 2 inch strip of muscle. It is inbetween that patricular incision and the one that is about 3 inches above it and about 2 inches over if that makes any sense.

Anyways, I was told that the pain will hang around longer and that there are actual stitches inside you that close that muscle. I actually have a dent right above the first incision I spoke about. I was told that once the stitches start to dissolve, the dent will pop back out.

I'm 15 days post op and when I move a certain way, that area has a very painful burn. It has actially gotten worse today....not sure why. I know I have been more active and I wonder if I did something to it.

I had that exact same dent and was worried he stitched me up wrong. It is completely gone now.

That is where I had most pain when coughing or sneezing and laughing too. That incision was the limiting factor for how soon I was able to side and stomach sleep as well.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
