thanks, you guys!

grrraaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh! remember that guy I talked about before, was was bragging to me about how he's lost 90 some lbs, and asked me how much I'D lost... and also was trying to get Dan to feel his muscles? Well, this morning, he gets RIGHT in my face, and says "Guess what, Guess what, Guess what!?" (but about 10x more) and that he was now at 199 (but repeated THAT also 10x!) . I said congrats... then tried to get out of there. Man he pisses me off. I understand it's exciting, but the way he does this stuff just comes off as bragging/obnoxious. I want to tell him that the way he's going about it DOES that, but... you know... I'm ball-less.

A couple days ago, a lady from work asked me if they could nominate me for a mango award. (it's this thing they do here in town (maybe the province?), awarding people for losing weight, or getting healthy) I said no, no, that was quite alright. They said "aww... c'mon, you need some recognition for your hard work!", I said that was ok, and I'll leave all that for ___ (the guy). They laughed and said he'd like that too much! (he already got an award when he lost 50lbs)

Anyways, the moral is: nobody likes a bragger.... right?! I think a good rule is, tell people about your loss (if you want to), ONLY if they ask you how you're doing. (the exception of course, the people closest to you, who know won't resent anything, and really will be happy for you!)

(Oh man... I don't know why its showing up like that! I'm sorry. It did that after I tried to edit it. I'll try to fix it later! Good luck decoding it for now!)

So, I'm finally going for a little bit of a fill tomorrow. I'm at 1.2 (used to be at 1.5) and I think I would like 1.4 total. MAAAAYBE I'll be daring and go for the full 1.5cc... but I don't know.

I was actually down a lb this morning, but... if it's anything like it's been going, I'll be up 2lbs in no time.... then down one, and so on and so on.

Wish me luck... fills are scary when you gotta go so far for 'em! This lady gave me the easiest, most pain-free fill ever when I saw her last, so I hope this time will be just as simple! I'm gonna maybe stop in Moncton on the way home and do a LITTLE shopping. I'm thinking about buying some ULTIMATE goal jeans.

Thinkin' of you Mr. Yoda, and all y'all recent banders :)

Hey look, 109lbs total so far.... sheesh, that's freakin' trippy! :)

So, got the fill.

Heh, not as pain-free as last time, but quick, so that I'm grateful for! I did get the 1.5cc. I am feelin' it. But I'm not even going to allow myself to FEEL it for a few days. Only liquids here.... I want things to go smoooothly.

Got some capri (now if I can get the nerve to wear 'em) pants, and some dress pants! Both size 12 :faint: I really didn't even see any jeans I liked to buy NOW, nevermind my dream size pants!

I've been very stressed for the last week or so. It was mentioned to that they were looking for someone to do the same job my friend Lauren does, but for a different upcoming show we're doing... and that they had me pegged for it. I had a meeting with one of the producers, he asked if I was interested, I wanted details and to know how much $$ :Banane43: He said he'd get back to me, and never did. Then on friday, there was a meeting arranged for all of us to discuss me and this job. By then though, I'd done enough thinking and realizing, that if I took this job, it would automatically add at least another year (from now) to my contract, when my current one is set to end in Sept. I don't know that I want to be here after Sept., and either does Dan. He's been applying to other places, and if he were to get another job, as if I did, we'd both be going there. So, we both have to end our contracts at the same time.

At this meeting on Friday, they asked me again, and I more or less said that I don't know what I want to do, but I do NOT want to do that job. I told him that I went to school for something specific, and I really should get back into that, and I want to take the next 4 months until my contract is up, to figure out what I WANT to do. They were very cool with that, and glad that I'm deciding what I want, and hope that I can find it at this company. I did manage to get a 'so... how much would this thing have paid?" before I left. $6,000 more a year. :phanvan They said they understood that that could make a difference, so if I wanted to take that little tidbit and think about, I could get back to them at the end of the day (the job starts Mon!). I said that it actually didn't make a difference, and thanked them anyways.

I'm quite proud of myself. I'd rather make what I am making now, have evenings and weekends off, know what my job is gonna be like everyday, and work relatively stress free. (unlike my friend) This new job seems like it might be a nightmare for whoever takes it, and I don't think it would be worth it. (plus, I really don't want to be doing the crap jobs at the studio anymore)

yay me!

Mandi - you are doing great. Your weightloss is inspiring and I love how you seem so confident with the jerk and with your employers.

Good luck whatever you decide.

Wow Mandi, what a moral boost. They offered you for a new job and the size 12!!! I'm sure you made the right decision and good for you not to have sacrificed your sanity for money

So proud of you Mandi (and not just re. the size 12!!!)...(YOWZERS!!!)

Sounds like you made a wise decision re. the job....good for you for not getting "trapped" and well done for being honest. I'm glad they respected your decision and are still supportive; it really does sound like a good employer!

I can't remember where I heard this (on LBT for sure though), but I've been thinking of it more and more these days:

"I lost my boobs, but I still have the bags they came in."

LOL, I think it's hilarious, but, uhh.... not! :phanvan

I think even more than some kind of lower body lift type deal, I'd love some nice boobies! Nah... if there were a way to get 'em both at the same time, that would be a dream come true. I'm still young, I have time to have the body I've always wanted, and enjoy it for a while! Shouldn't I have that? I never had a period of time that I looked good and flaunted it... so why not now?!

Bah! I dunno.

DO IT!!!! I am 47 and feel like I wasted a lot of time. I will probably have a Tummy Tuck and breast lift even at my age. You ARE young and YOU DESERVE the body you have always wanted. GO FOR IT!

I know what you mean Mandi. I told myself that the band was the only surgery I was going to do on myself. And I hope it is. But then again I see how great other people look after the lifts and things and I think hummm maybe that would be good too. I am in my 20's too and like you I never had that flaunt it part of my life. I think it would be great to live that period at least once in my young life. I don't blame you or judge you for wanting those things

Mandi, I agree with Dame J! I just turned 30, I know I'm pretty and I feel pretty but I want the body that goes with it. I'm still young, thats why I chose to have surgery, I want to spend the rest of this time feeling awesome about the way I look. It's something I want for myself, it has nothing to do with what anybody else thinks. My husband has always told me I am beautiful, from the day he met me, I know he loves me for me. If I feel I want a tuck here, and an implant there, I deserve it, and so do you.

I had a breast lift a few years ago. My boobs were saggy from years of yo-yo dieting, I guess. Although I was overweight when I had them done I wished I had done it years before. It didn't hurt. I would and will do it again if I need to!

you are young, why live the the next sixty years carrying around all that excess skin?! Go for it!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
