Recommended Posts

Im 1 week and 1 day post op and I went to the dr today thinking I would be able to AT LEAST eat other Soups and they told me broth for 3 more weeks. I was sooooooo dissapointed and kinda emotional about it i have been on broth for 3 weeks now and Im reallllllllly sick of it . Did anyone else have only broth and Jello 4 weeks post op?????? I have been doing awesome on the liquids I drink all day long never been sick or anything and I was shocked I couldnt move on. Anyways I will suck it up and only have broth lol but this is the PiTS and I didnt think it would be like this. ANd for all I know its probably all in my head but at this point some other kind of Soup would have been great LoL. Just wondering how other people were able to progress???

You were on broth for a preop diet?

I had to have Clear Liquids only for 10 days. Maybe in another week you can call your doctor and see if he will let you progress to other liquids.< /p>

I so understand how you feel....I still have a crap load of Jello and am ready to pass it on to my friend who is getting sleeved in a couple weeks. As far as I am concerned I will NEVER eat Jello again!

I am five weeks post op today and have been taking it slow. I started with soft foods three weeks post op and have not been able to tolerate much. So needless to say I am still on canned chicken, tuna, salmon or an egg. It bites big time but I keep reminding myself...it's only TEMPORARY. Majority of it is psychological!

The biggest pay off for me is that my sugar levels have dropped dramatically and I am down 30 lbs as of 7/9/2011. I wish you much luck and will be praying you get through it too!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
