I finally made it to Onederland

Recommended Posts

I am now 199, I didn't even understand what onederland meant, lol. I started my journey at 274 pounds and could barely walk around the mall, now almost 8 months later I'm 199. I'm a slower loser but I'm proud of myself. I love eating healthy without feeling like I'm on a diet and I now look forward to my 2 mile walks everyday. I have another 52 pounds to go and I will get there. I am so glad I went through with the surgery, I was so scared and wanted to cancel. But I kept reading peoples posts on this board and stuck with it becauce of everyone here, so thank you all for helping me change my life. Janine

Congrats on Wonderland!

I am right on your heels with less then 2 pounds to loose, but I have been stuck in a major rut and can't get out of it flucating a pound or two every day.

Hopefully I will be joining you in Wonderville at least by next week.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
