SCARED OF BEING DENIED??? i have a secret! PLZ READ

Recommended Posts

im terrified of not getting approved & i was talking to a friend who has had the sleeve done & she gave me a tip!

it turns out that LAP-BAND & GASTRIC BYPASS patients are NOT allowed to take asprin! if you can have your regular doctor prescribe you asprin for some type of pain related to weight (back, knees, hips, ankles) & have it on record, it will be hard for them NOT to cover vsg. you wont qualify for BYPASS OR LAP-BAND!!

you may get denied the 1st time but be patient and appeal OVER & OVER!

you just may get your way.

i hope this works. im calling my doctor tomorrow & im going to tell him the truth & i know he will hook me up.

IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER TRICKS OR TIPS, PLEASE POST!!!!

i'm pretty sure that's fraud

i know if you bring up some type of pain, doctors will suggest trying a NSAID.

is it doable, of course, is it right, no. do other people do it, yep; every day

Well my surgeon won't allow me to take aspirin either with the VSG. Don't listen to everything you hear...lol

ive had a few drs tell me the same & others say different. :/ more insurances r covering vsg so i dont think many ppl will need to go with this sort of technique.

My surgeon said asprin is bad during the healing process for VSG... but after you're healed it's fine.

Gastric Bypass on the other hand, you can never have asprin again for the rest of your life.

i figure thats why i was told to ask my dr to prescribe me asprin so that i wouldnt qualify for bypass. i always have back pain & headaches so i know for sure id never be a good candidate for bypass. i found out that my insurance does cover vsg, thank goodness!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
