What scale do you use???

Recommended Posts

I need a new scale! I can step on mine 3 times in a row and get 3 very different numbers. I would like to find something more accurate. Does anyone have a scale that you would recommend? Thanks!

Well, I'm not a fan of the scale, but I would really recommend using 1 only, either the one at the doctor or the 1 at the gym every time. Sorry I'm not any help. I don't own a scale

I have a weight watcher's digital scale that is usually pretty accurate. I just make sure it's in the same place on the floor all the time. It is usually a pound higher than the doctors office too.

I have a scale that will zero itself out before you step on it. You have to tap it in the center to turn it on and let it zero out, then you step on it and will accurately weigh you. I just need to make sure I put it on the bathroom floor where there is no carpeting because that will screw with it.

tanita brand, this is what WW uses at their meetings. I had best luck finding online. I own 2 for about 8 years now.

I also have a digital Tanita scale that I've had for about 5-6 years. It operates just like Nancy describes. It is very accurate. I have figured out that it is always 2 lbs lighter than my dr's scale...once you figure out the difference you can always do the math to know your true weight. I think I bought it at Bed Bath and Beyond.

Same with my Tanita's - consistently 1 lb heavier than at weight watchers.

I have this one too but I always seem to be a couple of lbs. lighter on it than the docs. As others posted above, I tend to monitor the fluctuations more than the actual weight, figuring it will vary by a couple of lbs. from scale to scale.

This is the one I bought. It was cheap and got great reviews. It gives me consistent readings and it looks fashionable to boot.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
