A 8oz protien shake is on average 100 calores. A Slimfast is around 190....an insure is like 250 I believe. If I could not eat I would substitute with meal shakes to get in my nutrition.

Unfortunately not everyone can tolerate those. I actually know more people who cannot tolerate any of those meal replacement/protein drinks than those that can.

I know some people believe a person should just suck them down whether they want to or not but when they make you even more nauseous or actually vomit, its just not worth it.

Everyones body will react differently to the sleeve, just like some people have acid reflux afterwards and some don't. The only time I dealt with it pre-op was in my twins pregnancy, now since being sleeved I am forced to take medication at least once a day, sometimes up to 3 times a day.

I am nauseous just about every morning, especially right after I eat/drink my first Protein Breakfast, and force in Vitamins. I feel major restriction in the morning, but just plain sick half the time so it doesn't even matter that I have restriction because I don't feel like having anything anyways. I take a PPI every morning, but maybe I will switch to taking it before bed each night like other suggested and see if that helps.

It's worth a try to see if it works. Try taking your Vitamins at night too. That seems to work best for me.

I am 6 weeks post op and have been nauseous for 4 weeks. I didn't want to eat or drink anything so I wasn't getting in my Water. I went to the doctor yesterday and he said our bodies are trying to get rid of years of built up toxins - this makes us nauseous and not drinking my water was just compounding the problem. He said I need to make sure to get my water in to flush out the toxins and I would start to feel better. Makes sense.

My doc prescribed my PPI twice a day. One in the morning and one before bed. For the most part I do okay, but there are times I still feel yucky. Hope this helps...:)

Having gall bladder surgery in a few days and I so hope the recovery is easier than the one from the modified DS! I could use a bit of luck/pep talk for a change. I'm starting to be able to walk around without experiencing dizziness, but it would be great if the random pain in my chest and abdomen would go away!!

      Today was rough...
I've been experiencing a headache all day today that just won't go away. I'm thinking it's now progressing into a migraine. Does anyone else get headaches from taking vitamin B12? I did some research and learned that usually a lack of B12 causes headaches. But I've noticed when I take it, I have reoccurring headaches. 😫
