This is entirely up to you. I can tell you I would do it again in a heartbeat and have had no problems and great sucess and only two months out but it is still your decision. I am sixty two and would'nt take for my band.

I researched for four months then found the surgeon that I felt comfortable with and got er done. I was not to pick up anything heavy for three months so it's all up to your doctors directions. Please feel free to pm me if I can help you any futher.;)

Well, I am scheduled to have surgery on July 12. I probably can't answer very many questions about the surgery, but I have done a lot of research on it and made up my mind after lots of research that this is the right thing for me to do. Yes...I'm very nervous, but I'm so tired of living life the way I do overweight. I am 30 years old and everytime I go somewhere, all I think about is how bad I look and look at other women who aren't overweight and wish I looked like them. I am doing this mostly for my self-esteem and not health at this point in my life. I have no health problems...just back and foot pain. But, I also know that if I don't do something now, it will get worse and I will begin to see health problems soon. All I can tell you, is research all you can and as far as picking up your grandbaby...I have a little boy that turned 2 in April. He is 24 lbs and I won't be able to pick him up for 4 weeks, but he can crawl in my lap and I can hold him. This is a decision only you can make. Good luck and keep us posted.

I understand your concerns. The surgery itself was a breeze for me. Probably just a few days to pick up the Grandbaby, most likely on the lap. You will do fine. Its an exciting time so I hope it goes well for you.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
