Libra, I'm sorry you've been having "female issues"--they're the worst! I hope things start settling down for you soon.

Molly, that's great that you walked the track today! You'll be up to a mile before you know it.

As for my exercise, I agree...I started out just like you guys. I focused on walking and worked my way up to a mile. Then I'd walk at least 30 mins/day about 3-4 times for the first 6 months or so. It was important for me to do an activity that I wouldn't get frustrated with, so walking was the perfect choice for me!

OMG...I've checked several BMI charts and guess what??? I'm 12 pounds away from being "overweight" and not "obese". Can you believe that??!! I'm gonna holla so loud the day that happens you all will hear me wherever you live!! I've been obese my entire life, honestly. I was a fat kid, an even bigger adolescent and morbidly obese my entire adult life. I have GOT to keep fighting to reach this goal.

Go lapbandit!!! Funny, I checked mine today too. I have to get to 196 pounds to get to "overweight" I've got a bit to go yet. Good luck!

Yay LapBandit :) That is fabulous! I am sure I will be able to hear you yell.

I am on the cusp between the 80's and the 70's. I am poised there and have been for a few days. I am just waiting a few days to weigh in hopes that when I do weigh I will be 27?. I just wish that I could lose weight as fast as I am capable of gaining it. I could easily gain 5lbs a week if I tried. It stinks that I can't lose that much :) Ahh impatience, my biggest weakness. But tomorrow morning is the track again :)

Have a great night everyone :)

And finally there is movement. :whoo: Now on to the next challenge of my first triip since being banded. Going to a conference in Tampa so hopefully I won't have any problems finding things I can eat to stay on track. I also started walking on the treadmill this week. I always feel better when I do it, sometimes it's just getting on it that takes so much energy...lol I hope everyone has a great week! :peace:

Well I am ready to throw my scale out the window, It's not moving! Dangit! I am on plan though so it will eventually. I spent half the night with terrible gas pain, got 2 hrs of sleep in before time for the track, I was bad and opted to sleep :P I have just had the worst time with Constipation. Anyone else have this problem? Seems like I rarely have BM's without Milk of Mag. It's becoming a weekly ritual that I hate! :angry

It's a major problem for me too. I take benefiber in all of my Water for the day. I also eat a high Fiber Cereal in the morning and when I don't "go" for two days, I take a stool softener or drink this herbal tea that's supposed to help. It still doesn't always work. I"m getting really frusterated with this too. I have a hard time eating vegetables unless they're cooked to mush, and most fruit gives me problems as well.

What is up with that? I've got "issues" that require me to use Metamucil too. It's the strangest thing...I eat better now than I ever have and now I have issues??? Doesn't make sense. But, it helps to know I'm not alone. Perhaps it a weight-loss induced thing?? I can't see how having a band makes a difference because we all still eat real food. Now, I know we eat less food than before but still...two days with nothing just isn't right. Very weird.

DO NOT LET YOURSELF GET DISCOURAGED MOLLY!!!!!! Remember, you're coming off of a pretty good weight loss spurt so just hang in there and let your body catch up again. I know it's hard---trust me---I know it's hard. But keep fighting the good fight and it will pay off, I promise!! I KNOW you can do it!

To get things "moving" increase your Water intake. Another thing that works wonderfully is 8 raw almonds a day. I read it in another post, tried it, and it really works.

I can live with almonds :P I will try that! I know in my whole history of dieting that anytime I lost weight I ended up constipated. I think that for me at least it is weight loss induced. And trust me my grandmother practically drowned me in all the Water she made me drink, lol.

As for the scale sticking, I have a theory that every weight where on the way up we stayed at for a while is a spot we stick at on the way down. I was stuck at 300 and now at 280, both were weights that I maintained for a long period of time on my way up the scale. The difference with this stick is that I am not going to get discouraged and go off plan. Lat time I did because I didn't have good retriction and was doing it all myself, this time the band is making it easier. Much easier. My biggest challenge everyday is getting enough protien. I don't enjoy eating nothing but meat, fish and poultry. As soon as I get enough money coming in I am gonna try these 3oz tubes of protien, they are 42g of protien each and they are supposed to taste like liquid Jello. Oh and they have zero carbs. Sadly a pack of 12 is $30 a bit pricey.

Well the scale finally moved after several days, but not far enough to be in the 70's yet, 1 more pound to go for that.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
