Road to "TWOterville"

Recommended Posts

Well it seems there are several of us who are currently trying to get to twoterville. So if you are one of us trying for it please tell us your goals and we can support each other as we try to get our tricksy scales to be nice and cooperative.

Hi there! My name is Lisa and Iam part of the June Band Crew(I was banded on June 13th and have lost 62 pounds) and Iam 28 pounds from seeing 200. I have not seen that number since I was 20 years old in 1990!

So please count me in......:)

Love and Hugs,:kiss2:

Hi there! Iam Lisa aka LeeceLove 70. I was banded on June 13,2006 .

Let me tell you about me:

My birthday is Jan 6, 1970 (hence the 70 in the username).

I have been married to my hubby for what will be 5 years on March 27th of this year and have an adorable 4 1/2 years old son Andrew. I was born and raised in New York(North East Bronx-Country Club Section).

My hobbies are reading books -- Barnes and Nobles is getting rich with me -lol I love going to concerts - The best I saw recently was Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden in February of 06- he did 3 hours non stop!

I have been fat since I was 5 years old and growing up I was on every diet there was. I never made lifetime on Weight Watchers but I sure did spend enough over the years to get lifetime membership!

I even tried Overeaters Anonymous a few times for my eating disorder of Compulsive Overeating. The most I lost was 35 pounds on OA's HOW program.

I also suffer from depression and I went through a breakdown in June of 2005 after my best-friend of over 10 years decided to end our friendship from pressure and abuse she was suffering from her husband. ( Thank God she got help and we reconnected and our friendship is stronger now!)

I admitted myself to a hospital for a week and got put on medication and received help for my depression. I was finally diagnosed correctly with Bipolar 2 in October of 2006.

A year to the date I had my LapBand surgery and it was the best thing I ever did for myself!

I have regained my life, my self-esteem and self-respect! My depression is under control and I see my therapist every other week and doctor once a month.

Iam not perfect, but Iam progressing!

I have lost 62 pounds with my LapBand with one fill in October and then a much need unfill on Feb.8th and it has not been easy! Someone once told me, "Nothing Worth Fighting For Is Ever Easy", well this is one of them .... IAM FIGHTING TO GET RID OF MY OBESITY!

The past 8 1/2 months have not been easy and the old cravings have been there, but I keep watching what I eat and only drink Water and Crystal Lite. I have started exercising alot more with dance DVD's at home and we just joined Planet Fitness a gym in our neighborhood( We finally got winter here in NY with a snow/icestorm on Valentine's Day so I do alot more indoor exercise now!). I miss my outdoor walking but right now its way to icy outside to enjoy my walks:think .

I am a member of the June Banders Crew since I was banded in June and they are a very supportive group. The only thing is none of them are from New York and I was happy to see some New Yorkers in this group! Please keep in touch with me those who are from NY, I would love to hear from you, its so lonely when there is none out there from your region!

Iam hoping to meet alot more friends as we all are on our journey to that magic 200 number!

Love and lots of hugs,:)

Lisa

Hi Lisa and welcome, you are actually almost to wonderland which is great! :clap2: We started out as a group trying to get out of the 3's and into the 2's and have progressed to also include those making there way through the 2's so you fit right in :) There is a tax day challenge and there is at least one person in our little group who's goal will put them in onderland if they make it :(

No change for me today, but I am sticking to the program so even if the scale doesn't show it yet I know I am losing those pounds, just need to wait for them to exit, hehe. I have been doing 600-1000 cal's a day to get in my protien and some veggies and fruit. I wish I could stand to eat tuna without the mayo, but it's just to dry and too bleh wothout it. Low cal mayo is too disgusting for me, any ideas other than mustard? I have already thought of that and am gonna try it today :)

Thanks Molly. I am really proud of my progress so far. We've got quite a team on this thread...we're all doing awesome!

Well, I hope everyone is getting a break from the chilly weather. We are enjoying temps in the 50's this week and I'm LOVING every minute of it. I hope it lasts!

Just reporting in for Thursday. Had my first fill this week. Haven't been sick but seems like everything I try to eat hits that 'do not pass go' spot. The fill was on Tuesday. Does this pass after awhile? If not I may need to raise my goal because I won't be eating anything...lol

I have not been doing well since I had to be unfilled due to extreme stress(My hubby had a health scare with his heart and I almost had a slippage with my band). Since I was unfilled on Feb.8th I have not weighted myself at home. Yesterday I started a one week Bariatric starter kit ( Since yesterday was Ash Wednesday for us who are Catholic and it was my way of doing my fasting!)it consist fo the 5+1+1 plan. Its the 5 Protein Shakes a day + 1 Protein Bar a day and then 1 Protein meal day of 4-6 oz of protein with 1 cup of starch and 2 cups of green vegetables.

I got on my home scale was shocked to see that I gained 5 pounds since my unfill!:omg: I have been so out of control with my eating and I actually took Fat Tuesday literally!-lol I had went from my highest of 290 down to 228 which was 62 pounds. Iam still doing well at 233 from the 290 with a 57 pound loss, but what a blow-- 5 pounds!:think

This so bothers me since after surgery up until October I was not filled and I had lost 40 pounds with just my band on my own. I hope that now that I have stepped up my exercise more and I have started this one week plan that i can get back on track.

I worked so hard and I never want to go back to that miserable 290 pound woman ever again!

Love and Hugs to all,

Lisa

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
