I am 7 days post -op and feeling awesome!!!! Only one glitch today. I am having no issues at all. Except I forget to eat, never thought I'd hear myself say that. No hunger at all. Clothes are getting looser. This is everything I hoped it would be.

I went back to work today. Energy level is high. Felt great. Didn't get much done though, lol. Everyone had to stop by and see how I was doing and wanted to hear all the details. No one could believe how good I felt. People are already noticing the weight loss in my face. I have some awesome co-workers.

Except for one Cranky Old Bat!!! One of our overweight girls came in to talk to me, she really wants to do this and we talked for almost an hour, my heart broke for her every time she teared up when talking about her struggle with her weight. She was waiting for me to get back so she could see how I was doing and how the process of going to Mexico worked. She is one of the sweetest people in our office. Anyway Cranky Old Bat had to come by and see how I was doing. (I don't care for this woman at all, when anyone brings treats for the office and puts them in the break room, she puts weight watcher magazines next to the snacks). As the girl was leaving my office she looked at her and said "It's your turn to go get this done". I was so shocked that she could be that heartless. I knew she was a B(#@H, but that was completely uncalled for. I was speechless. I couldn't say a word. That's not me at all, I'm known around the office for my mouth. I call it like I see it, and not afraid to say it. But that shocked me so badly I couldn't even respond. That was my one glitch.

My wish is that everyone has as smooth of a 1st week as I have had.

So glad to hear you are doing so good. I have surgery with Dr. Kelly April 8th, so this news is awesome to hear.

As for your friend, hopefully she will be able to join the VSG club too. I know the struggles of being overweight and the hurt that other people have thrown my way.

Congrats to you and keep up the good work. Jen :)

Hi i am thinking of having sleeve done and was wondering about Dr Kelly and Mexico experience. I have medical insurance but it covers no obesity procedures so it will be up to me to pay for procedure. I have noticed advertisements in mexico are much cheaper than here in US. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks Trish

hi i had surgery march 4th with dr. kelly. shelia and her dtr were there and shelia had surgery a few days after me. i felt safe whole time i was there. dr. kelly is a very good dr and the price is 1/2 of what you self pay in the states. hospital is a little older but had everything you need. nurses were fine. i am a nurse also. i was mostly concerned with postop pain, i had a bad experience after my hysterectomy in the states. they give you toradol IV around the clock and i had no problem with nausea. dr. kelly is a good choice.

I was sleeved by Dr. Kelly on March 15th. It was just a pleasant experience. I traveled alone and felt very at ease. I had every faith in Dr Kelly and his staff. I too am a nurse. I came home on the 19th and went back to work on the 20th. Dr. Kelly was WONDERFUL. There were no complications and I am now down 11 lbs. ONE week today, back to work, and lost weight. WOW, simply amazing. I just loved my experience.

Good for you for being such a supportive friend to your co-worker. I too, work with a lady that is so rude and just a biotch like that! I would have reported her to HR or your boss for the comment she made about the other girl. How awful!

Good luck to you.

Kelly

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
