Ok, so you all know I have been calling UHC since Friday when Dr B sent in the paperwork.

I called at 5:25p today just to see if they got the paperwork and they did and the ALREADY APPROVED IT!!!:faint: :faint: :faint:

The guy on the line said they had it and it was approved for...7-16 thru 7-18

I dont know if that is the actual date of surgury. I assume that Dr B had to put a date on the form, but I didnt expect approval in ONE DARN DAY

OH MY GOD GUYS!!!!!!!!!

Although, I dont think that I will really really believe it until I get a call from Dr B's office with their official word!

BUT Oh MY:eek:

CONGRATS Jill!

It was the same way with me. Actually, I sent my paperwork to the Doctors ofc on Wedesday nite, over the internet thru his website portal and was approved the next day, Thursday. I ended up using a different surgeon and hospital. (another story)

If your policy covers MOS (Morbid Obesity Surgeries), they usually approve these surgeries toot sweet after they look up the Employer policies. If your policy does not cover MOS, then your out of luck. (I worked for UHC for quite while, I'm sure that helped me also. I knew who to get in touch with.) Each Employer has a different policy. They are not all the same.

Way to go for you. Happy Dance!:) Best Wishes.

Congrats - you'll hear back from dr B's once they get the written approval.

Maybe it could be the dates they put on. I had my approval in Nov but waited until after the holidays to schedule my surgery. Let us know what you find out.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
