I do have one problem!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

I was sleeved on Oct. 29,2010 and I am doing wonderful now. I am loosing weight wonderfully, I am exercising and I am diabetes free!!! So everything seems like it is going great...But its not!!!

NONE OF MY CLOTHES FIT!!!!!

I know, I know. If that is my only problem now...but it is a problem. Before sleeve, I was wearing a 30/32 womens. Now most of us know that it gets really hard to find anything to wear when you get above a 24W. I was living at Lane Bryant and Avenue. But now, I recently brought some pants sized 22/24 and I have room. My mother has a jacket which is a 3X and it is too big for me. I AM SO LOVING MY NEW BODY!!! Thank you sleeve!

 I can't wait to have the same problem with all my clothes! The only thing I have started putting away are bras, which became too big straight away

Isn't that fun?? :D Go hit a Goodwill or Salvation Army and have a blast--make sure you get a couple of things that are a size too small now, 'cause you won't believe how fast you're into (and back out of) them!

I've wondered where this information was. I'm to be sleeved next Tuesday; 1 week. I see how fast everyone loses the weight and I'm wondering how the heck I will find clothes. It seems like such a waste of money to buy something you may only wear 1 month. I guess I'll find a good consignment store. Let me know what you have done.

I've lost 26 lbs and my clothes still fit fine. I can't wait. I'm in a 28/26 now. My sister called yesterday and said she had a lot of 18's she no longer wore did I want them. Hell Yeah. I have a few 24 and 22 from weight losses but I'm scared to try them on yet.

WTG that's great, I was fortunate to get hand me downs and also hit up the salvation army several times along the way... Don't spent too much money on clothes as you will be burning through the sizes, my pants went from 66 to 40 in 19 months. Some dieting some after the sleeve, keep rocking it!!!

Yes, I totally agree with Used2b575lbs! Don't buy too many new clothes if you can avoid it. . clothes are very expensive and if you get to the goodwill, salvation army or whatever do that, if you can get hand me downs even better. . . i'm wearing clothes that my daughter can't fit anymore, however only problem with those is that it's her kind of clothes (young teenagers taste) See me running around with a mini skirt and a middrift t shirt that say Hot Topic! Some of her clothes are cute though. . . ;)

I've always had "a want to be size" that I try on until one day they fit! I buy smaller sizes to work into. Don't be scared!

I LOVE having that problem!!! And I LOVE the feeling when clothes are baggy on me. I started at a size 30/32, and you are right, its SO hard to find anything over a 26!! Thank god for the avenue when I wasa 30/32 because they were the only place I could find stuff to fit. It was so sad and depressing when I went to Lane Bryant and tried a 28 and couldn't fit and that was the biggest size! I just told myself they ran small, to make myself feel better. I am now in a 20 in some brands of jeans. Some of the cheaper ones are still tight. And I have NO 22's, so I have put my 2 pairs of 24 size jeans in the dryer multiple times, and they are still falling off. I think I might have to retire them really soon because they are almost to the point where I have to hold them up, LOL! Some tops still have to wear a 3X because my arms aren't getting much smaller, but I found a 1X Columbia winter jacket in my closet the other day that I forgot I had, and WOW, it fit! Kinda snug, but I can zip it! I was super excited. :D

We have around the same amount of weight to lose, and we seem really close on how fast we are losing. I am a few weeks a head of you. Pretty cool!

Find all the consignment and thrift stores.

There are also some really good clearance sales going on right now. I was able to get brand new clothes when I was losing for $2-4 at Macy's clearance sales. JC Penny has some good ones too.

A most excellent kind of problem! I put off buying clothes as long as I could and I still had some old "skinny" clothes that were not helplessly out of style.

I'm so glad I saved all of my cute clothes from when I was smaller. I have about 10 totes of them hogging up a spare bedroom. I definitely planned on getting back into them. :) I can't wait!

I just bought stretch 16 pants at the thrift store, to try on until they fit (I can zip... but way too tight still) I was wearing a 22 at the highest... I bought a great cowboy tooled belt at the goodwill today for $2.99.... still too small, but I will love it when I can fit it!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
