I am so excited that my pre-certification packet has been submitted! I have heard that others with my insurance have had great luck with approvals, so I feel very hopeful. We had to submit a scheduled date to the insurance company on the Pre-Cert. SOOOO, I am scheduled for March 28, 2011!! I am SO incredibly excited and ready to start this journey. I have been SO impressed with Dr. Travis Goodnight and his staff and cannot say enough good things about them. They have been SO patient with me and my 10 million questions. ;)

I have LOVED reading all of your stories and I cannot wait to share my own. I look forward to getting to know all of you better and going through this exciting life change together.

P.S.....now to just figure out how to create a neat little BMI ticker thing!! :)

Might I ask which insurance company you have? I'm right behind you-----last dr. visit is Monday.

Margaret- I have BCBC. I think it is technically BCBS of FL b/c the company I work for is based there. However all my cards, etc just say BCBS.

Surgeon's office just called.......and I'm APPROVED! Took less than 24 hours!! They said that it almost ALWAYS takes the full two weeks to get the approvals! SO, they said that if we want we can try to do the surgery THIS MONDAY 2/28 instead of waiting until 3/28! So glad I started the pre-op diet in the off chance something like this happened!!

This just shows that the power of prayer works! I prayed yesterday before they sent the submission and again last night that the nurse would review it quickly b/c she has been out on vacation. I'm SO EXCITED!! :) Now to just try to get caught up on work and housework in time to actually have surgery on Monday! Yikes!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
