I had my follow-up with Dr. Billy today and an Upper GI. My plicated stomach looks very good. There was 1 area of concern where Dr. Billy might want to tighten later if needed but other than that all went well and I was cleared for mushies. I drank 1/2 an Isopure during the morning - 80 calories, 20 grams of Protein.

On my trip home I stopped for lunch. I ate about 3 small bites of scrambled egg, about 2 ounces of french onion Soup and a couple of small pieces of the cheese on top of the soup. I'm stuffed!! I don't quite know the full signal yet but started sneezing soon after I finished so I figured that might be my full signal. I used to sneeze if I ate too much with the band too. I think I'm gonna start carrying a measuring cup with me!

I'm gonna go walk now.

Take care,

genepha

It doesn't take much food now, does it? Sounds like you're doing great - keep it up!

I sneeze and my nose starts running and my eyes Water. I try to pay closer attention, but I am really bad about one more nibble.

What does the upper GI consist of? xray?

Thanks for the update. Glad you are doing so well!

Upper GI is like an x-ray but I had to drink the white chalky contrast so the dr.and tech could see it go through my new tummy. They also have this fancy table that lays you down and then stands you back up. It's easy but the contrast tastes nasty!!

Thanks so far I'm enjoying my plicated tummy much more than when I had the band.

I'm back from my plication Genepha and I wanted to email you so badly but I was in awful condition for the first few days and could hardly do anything! I am back to good though and excited to see what my results are. Can I admit that I am daydreaming about eating regular food! I doesn't get to me until I make dinner for my family though.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
