Asking for prayers

Recommended Posts

How awesome for you. Can't wait to hear how things go. Congrats on the "instant weight loss" that is coming! You will be in my prayers.

Don't worry about the pics, I've already discussed that with the doc. I also asked him to take one with a ruler next to it so we can really see the size. My DH and I have been making jokes about naming it and posting our proud pic on Facebook.< /p>

Be sure you ask that your surgeon take pictures of your fibroid to show to you after surgery! You will be amazed. I do a lot of gyn surgery where I work and we remove lots of fibroids. It's kind of crazy to see how big these things can grow and a lot of the women don't even know that they are in there until they start experiencing really heavy periods. You are going to do great with this surgery and almost always the fibroids are completely benign (non-cancerous). You may have some pain afterward as with any surgery but it will be well worth it considering you are having the panniculectomy also (how exciting). Lots of well wishes to you for your healing.

Sending you well wishes and many prayers!! I'm sure you'll do fine, you're a tough lady. Though the reasons behind it aren't the best, losing 2 dress sizes overnight is something to be happy about! :D

One thing though, I'm sure naming and it posting on FB would be one heck of a converstion piece! LOL :) Hang in there, and please let us know how you're doing when you feel up to it.

I remember you posting about this a few months back. That's great news they can do both at the same time.

Well it's done. I had the surgery on Tuesday and came home on Thursday. The ob/gyn was surprised to find out the tumor weight in at over 10 lbs……my husband and I are trying to decide if we should send out birth announcements.wink.gif

Where my sleeve surgery was way easier than I expected, this was a bit harder. The pain is like nothing I've ever experienced. The really weird part is how weepy I am all the time. I at least recognize my hormones are completely out of whack and the surgeon explained the anesthesia also contributes.

I really want to thank all of you on this board for the support you offered. I am blessed to have found this group and I a truly grateful to all of you.

I'm praying for you and excited for you that you have found the silver lining. Kudos to you for that. I am positive everything will be fine and can't wait to here how great you feel after.

My sleeve is only a week old, so I can't say anything superlative about it yet (so far, so good). But prior to that, the hysterectomy is the best thing I've ever done. So. Awesome.

Get better quickly!!

When my surgery was done on November 18th, it was discovered my fibroid tumor was way way bigger than we knew. (I confess……it had been a couple of years since I had gone to the OBGYN) So, on March 1 I am having this football size mass removed and the doc will perform a complete hysterectomy.

But here's the good news! Have you ever grabbed the overhang on your belly and said "if they could just cut this off" We'll that's what I'm doing. I am having a panniculectomy at the same time as the hysterectomy. The doc estimates the tumor weighs about 7-10 pounds so that will be a nice little instant weight loss as well. They expect I will look dramatically different. If I wasn't carrying this extra weight, the doctor says I would look pregnant as my uterus is the size of a full term pregnancy. Couple that with my belly overhang going away and I'm guessing I'll go down a couple of pants sizes.

That's the silver lining I'm going with. You all have been such wonderful support for weight loss I'm selfishly dipping into the well again and asking for your good thoughts as I approach this big surgery.

Thanks!

Prayers and Congrats! I would so love to get the extra removed!

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
