Just scheduled VGS w/Dr. Rodriquez in TJ

Recommended Posts

I have spent hours reading every post regarding this procedure and want to thank everyone who takes the time to tell their story, the ups and downs, laughter and tears. Monday, I started my internet search, filled out medical questionaire with Beliteweight and today scheduled the operation with Dr. Rodriquez in TJ on April 13th. I am 58 years old and like most of you, have struggled with my weight all my life. Every diet plan, pill (yes Phen/Fen), hospital Protein liquid diet, and HCG - tried everything and I can lose weight on all of them, but I cannot seem to keep it off. I have been going to an exercise boot camp 5 days per week for the last 2 months and have not lost one pound! My husband is totally supportive and is excited for me to have this procedure. I am concerned with the process only because I am not having to go through the tests and evaluations that people have to do in the US. I just told them what procedure I wanted and agreed to pay for it. Can it really be this simple? So glad I found this forum!

I will let you know, I have been scheduled for the sleeve on 02/26/11. I'm sure we have the same? What will happen in TJ, what is the hospital INT like, how is the Dr Rod. At this time I have called several people on belightweights referral list and all had great things to say about their surgery but they may not include people who haven't had a good experience. The cost was good at $6700.00 but only good if there r no problems. I will post again so u know what I went through.

wow, you sound like me. Jenny Craig, weight watchers, no carbs, low carbs, and yes HCG. It sure is tough. I'm just tired of the yo-yo diets. I'm 50 now and can't keep up. My surgery is scheduled for March 15 with Dr. Kelley in TJ. I am so excited. 33 days and counting.

Good for you! I'm a little older than you and will have mine next month probably. This forum has been so good for answering all kinds of little issues as well as big ones! I've battled weight forever but mostly in the last 10 years. When a trainer twice a week for 6 months wasn't getting any weight off I started re-thinking and studying. This has got to be the way to go! I have mostly supportive friends and a great group working with me in TN. Here's to good health!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
