Exercise / P90x

Recommended Posts

All right guys, so for the past month or so, the wife and I have been going to the gym, getting on the treadmill walking/jogging/running a 5k. This has been great to build stamina and show myself that I *can* do it and learn to like exercise. Well, today, I started P90x and am throwing that into the mix too. I've lost 72 pounds since October 8 of last year and I figure it's time to build some muscle. Have any of you thought about doing it, have done it, or are doing it now?

For my first workout today, I have to say, it completely kicked my tail. I've heard of people puking when they first start, and I thought they were full of it, but I can completely see how that could happen. Though I'm sore as hell right now, it was fun and challenging. Can't wait to see if I can last 90 days!

It's an insane workout, and it just gets harder as you progress through it. But, you'll be amazed at how quickly you shape up, as well! I did it a few years ago, and I had to quit midway through because I injured my knee (so be careful!!), but I plan to do it again once I get my fitness levels back up!

Good luck!

So far, so good, it's an amazing workout. For those people who want more out of their exercise program, this is a great way to go.

The puking is usually due to an autologous HGH dump, and it's rare for folks past 40 or so to be able to generate that much HGH. I miss my old college days of "pump Iron till you puke" (then replaced by "drink beer till you puke" -- yes, I was not a delicate flower back in those days ;) )

Now I have to go look up P90x!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
