Hello everyone I had some questions I had my Surgery on Oct 25th 2010 I was 256 before my surgery and day of Surgery I was 246 today I my weight is 199. I feel like I am losing weight very slow. Should I have lost more weight ... I need to make a little better choices eating or I should say eat more and I have a hard time remembering to drink Water I know that is horrible . Any suggestions I have also drank a little and I know that is bad so I am cutting that out . I am just a little scared at this point . I need to go in to over drive or something .

My surgery was October 27th, 2010. I weighed 241 on day of surgery. Today I weigh 195. My surgeon says I am doing better than the average. So I think you are doing fine. Everyone loses differently, but we seem to be hanging together.

You are not losing slowly, you are doing really well... keep up the good work.

In 6 1/2 mths I have lost 50lb... so as you can see you are doing well!! Remember everyone loses at different rates!

I think your doing pretty darn good. I was sleeved on Nov 9th and weighed 247 at the time of surgery and now weigh 210. So your by no means a slow loser in my book.

I'm almost exactly where you are and also feel like I'm in the "slow loser" category. My surgery was 10/26 and I weighed in at 232. Today I'm at 198. As nice as it would be to be a "fast loser", I'm counting my blessings that my skin is given every possible opportunity to tighten up as I lose. At least we are in the 100's!

You guys are actually losing quite well! I started at 250 at the beginning of my Options class orientation in the Summer of 2009, then was 242 at my pre-op and after my pre-op diet was 234.5 the morning of surgery. This morning I was at 197.5 and I was sleeved a month before you both :-) So personally, I think you are losing really quite well! Wish i were losing that fast!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
