What Kind of Music Do You Love? I'm a R&B Hip Hop gal myself

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what y'all like out there...Right now I'm listening to Omarions new "Enterouge" it is pure fire...Also LOVE Dead Prez and I'm a faithful Bizzy Bone fan...I'm a Hip Hop baby, bought my first rap 'TAPE' in 1988 Too Short and never looked back. I love the Hip Hop culture from West coast to East Coast to Dirty South. Back in the day I even got to kick it with Tupac RIP....

hip hop is definitely my first love. i'm more of a east coast girl: a tribe called Quest, mobb deep, mos def, gang starr, epmd, nas, the roots etc. now i'm listening to much more indie rock like broken social scene, clap your hands say yeah, jenny lewis, augie march, citizen cope. but i guess i'm more interested in music that sounds 'weird'. anything that's not too straight forward. but i'm really sad to see what has happened to hip hop, there's just not enough diversity on the radio. everyone's trying to be so hard, it sounds fake to me.

Well, I think the sounding hard part is kind of over, my complaint is now everyone is copying each other, whether it's crunk muzik, snap music, whatever, I like originality and uplifting lyricists. Fun stuff that wasn't so serious, almost self-deprecating at times... I like weird stuff too, What u think about gnarls barkley?

I love country and always have. George Strait is my absolute favorite country singer. However, I do like to listen to Fuel, Savage Garden and Journey on occasion. I also love Michael Bolton and love his new CD with all of Sinatra's old hits. I love Barry Manilow's voice and think it is one of the best all time voices there is, so I guess you could say I just plain like good music of any genre.

I know it is a cliche, but I love most music. My IPOD has everything from Ave Maria to Alice Cooper on it!

I like a mix myself and enjoy most things. I loathe stadium rock though and heavy metal *shudder* Men in tight pants with long hair, no thank you.

At the moment I'm loving Greenday and The Offspring, listening to Bernard Fanning a lot.

But I really love anything folky - Deborah Conway and Paul Kelly are my two favourite artists, although they're both Australian so no doubt nobody's ever heard of them, although I think Paul Kelly has had some success in America.

I'm also a child of the 80's lol, I'm stuck on Cold Chisel, another aussie band, never get tired of listening to them. Aussie pub rock, you cant beat it.

I usually prefer the sounds of silience; however, I love QUEEN and

Bohemian Rhapsody is my all time favorite song. Almost forgot.. I like Annie Lennox also.

I know it sounds weird and old folky.. but I love Musicals! Cats, Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Man of La Mancha, Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast, My Fair Lady, etc.. I want to see them live, not on TV, or listen to them on an IPOD!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
