Unjury Protein Powder

Recommended Posts

I COMPLETELY agree. It has to be the best "chocolate" flavored Protein I've tried. It truly tricks my mind into thinking I'm drinking a cup of hot coco.

All of its stats are perfect for us new Sleevers' too.

The chicken Soup flavor is pretty good. It tastes like a creamy version of Cup of Noodle liquid.

Now their vanilla flavor...not as impressed. I actually dumped my sample cup of that out...

As long as you make sure the temperature isn't too high, all of these powders mix in EXTREMELY well compared to a lot of others I have tried.

Also, I was having trouble with their Unflavored on Clear liquids...(is just wasn't tasting right in crystal light or anything clear for that matter)

So I called their customer service and the lady emailed me a TON of recipes that included clear liquid ideas all the way through to solid foods.

The recipes totally helped and now I'm using that daily as well.

unjury HANDS DOWN wins my vote for most usable (tasty) product.

I just wish there was a store front some where to buy it.

:-)

Oh and I just remembered to mention that with the unflavored you have to let it sit for a min or two arter u stir it in and then stir it a bunch more to get it smooth. At fist I was grossed out by the chuncks but realized that they mix in really smooth after waiting just a bit. :-)

I love love love the Unjury chicken Soup. I mixed it with mashed potatoes and it was so good. I couldn't finish all the potatoes, but will work on it later so I can get the whole 21 g of Protein that are in one scoop. I haven't tried the vanilla or chocolate yet. I ran out of skim Lactaid.

I just received my sample pack of unjury today. Haven't tried anything yet. They sent me two of each flavor, a food thermometer and a small 16oz rubbermaid container to mix it in. Ordered from their site and it cost 17.95 and 6 dollar shipping.

I sure hope I like them. I am worried about finding Protein that I really will like.

I tried the unflavored for the first time tonight with crystal lite in a shaker and after I shook it up there was so much foam in the cup. I could not get it to settle...there were no clumps just foam. I could not taste it in the drink but the whole foam thing turned my stomach. How do you avoid this? I am trying things out for post-op and did not like that idea so I need other ideas...how do you mix it into the Jello? Do you put it in with the hot Water or wait until you mix the cold water and then mix it in?

I use the unflavored as well. After you shake it, the foam will eventually subside to where it's a thin layer on top. The I drink some of it and then let the rest sit....shake it...drink it. I use V8 Diet Splash (tropical blend) with mine or the fusion. I don't like Crystal Light with it for some reason. Plus, After the first month I can't take anything chocolate or Vanilla flavored..lol. I also recommend Isopure smoothies at GNC (orange/peach flavor) that have 32 gms of Protein per bottle. They are pretty good and don't have the yucky aspartame after taste.

I received my samples from unjury this week and I am relieved to learn that I LOVE the chocolate splendor and the chicken Soup. I mixed the chocolate splendor with coffee at work and it was like a yummy high calorie Starbucks drink! I used the thermometer they sent with my sample packet and learned that the coffee I make at home is a steaming 160 degrees but what I buy at work is 140 degrees. Who knew you could comfortably drink something that was 160 degrees hot?? :tea:

I tried the chicken soup today and that was very good too. I LOVE the idea of mixing it with mashed potatoes if I have the carbs to spare. I haven't had my sleeve yet but I wanted to get some product on hand and make sure that I like it before I am home from hospital all cranky and whiny. I haven't tried the other flavors yet but I plan to this week. Thanks for everyone posting your tips.

Advice about the unjury...order the samples first, try them then order the larger containers if you like it. I had high hopes of loving the chicken Soup like everyone else and I tried it once and am not sure if I can do it again. It made me nauseous smelling it. Everyone's taste buds are different. I should have tried a sample first before ordering two canisters of the chicken soup which I may end up wasting b/c I don't know if I can give it another chance and I am not allowed mashed potatoes until after 7 months out from surgery. Any lowcard suggestions for using it would be appreciated...but using it with just the Water doen't cut it for me...hard to stomach. A lot of people love this one and I am not sure why I don't but I want to give it another shot.

Well...I happen to like the Chicken Soup, but I add things to it like...onion powder, garlic powder, and a little pepper. However, I wasn't to thrilled about the Choc Splendor or vanilla, so I found some good recipes to liven them up. Now, for the first 21 days I'm on FULL liquids and my surgeon says, "if you can get it thru a strainer you can have it." So here are some ideas and recipes you can try:

Get sugar free coffee Syrups...You can add a teaspoon or so to totally change the taste. Lollicup, USA

Get sugar free Jello and Jello pudding mixes...add a tablespoon of the dry powder to your drink. Yummy!!

Here are some recipes from theworldaccordingtoeggface.com. I love them!!!!

Note: If you don't do Soy milk (like me) just use 1% milk. Also, if the recipe calls for "flavored" soy milk, just use the 1% milk and flavor with the coffee Syrup.

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
