mad.gifmad.gifder.gifSo I had my Psych evaluation this morning, I would love to hear how you felt about yours, mine had the "tests" pencil and paper but also a 45 min conversation that felt like 2 hrs. She asked where I was raised then went on to how many times I cry then on to something else then something else then she asked me if I knew what it would take for me to live after surgery and keep the weight off why I felt I could not do this without the surgery...WELL...how do you answer that without giving TMI!!! director.gif Lady I need a freaking stop button! The she blurts out of nowhere: "You are too hard on yourself aren't you?" I don't even know what to tell this lady at that point but thank God it ended. I really find therapy interesting but is it normal for them to pick and poke like that, I think I would rather journal or talk to a close friend. Here is my favorite question: "Do you think you overeat to fill an emotional need?" I consider myself deep but seriously I didn't know what to say I don't know what my emotional pit is this was way too deep girls that's all I can say. der.gif

This Psych eval was exhausting...drama.gif can't wait to see the surgeon on the 23 of November.

Hope everyone is having a great week!

I honestly found my psych eval laughable. The little "true false" questions I had to answer made me giggle through most of it. The strongly disagree, somewhat disagree, neither, somewhat agree, strongly agree questions really made me laugh. The actual meeting with the psych was good, he was direct, and to the point which I appreciate. He found my candor, and brutally honest opinions refreshing. He cleared me with flying colors. I read the eval and the personality profile was a bit off, but I really didn't put much stock in the questions so that is why I'm sure the test found me to a bit of an "introvert". I really laughed at that title because I'm the furthest thing from introverted.

Overall, it was a long appointment, but gave me some insight on how to handle life post-op.

Tiffykins, you had a great experience, they didn't give me anything and I left there feeling like I don't have a personality but they said that stuff goes to the bariatric clinic. Yes the questions were funny at times:

Do you think you are good at anything you do? (Yes I am super confident that's why I ended up overweight!)rolleyes.gif

Do you like being bossed around? (I thought...no...do you? but there was only *true or *false)cool.gif

Are you lying on this questionnaire?(If you can't trust me then...) huh.gif

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
