Tomorrow (3rd Nov) I get my endoscope done and that is the final thing before surgery on the 15th! YAY!! I've never had an endoscope so this will be a first and I have to admit, I'm a little nervous but I just hope they give me enough good drugs and I don't remember none of it! LOL

I just had mine last Wednesday. It was pretty easy. You fall asleep and don't really remember a thing! I have had a little heartburn, but nothing TUMS couldn't take care of. I do have a band, so that could be the reason for the heartburn. I am so excited to get my sleeve, too!

I had one a few weeks ago, and it was easy. I remember them starting the camera down the throat, but I think I must have liked the drugs because it was pleasant. Just relax. The anesthesiologist said to me "picture your favorite place..." I was out like a light.

Hi Everybody. My surgery is scheduled in Dec and nobody has mentioned an endoscopy to me. Does everyone get an endoscopy before surgery?

My surgeon doesn't require it unless you have a history of heartburn or previous surgeries. All dr's are different.

Hi everyone, I am totaly new here, this is my first post. I am TENTATIVELY scheduled for Dec 2... sort of a sudden thing... and my surgeon REQUIRES endoscopy. I am really nervous about that, and having a hard time scheduling it on such short notice... but I can see that it would be good to know what's going on in there BEFORE starting surgery, from the doctor's perspective.

I am SO SCARED about the sleeve.. reading and watching YouTube and all the people who are sick and throwing up... I keep thinking that I should just back out NOW, as it's not reversible like the band. But I don't want the band either, because everyone seems to be taking those OUT now, and converting to the sleeve.

As you all can see, I am pretty nervous.... but at the end of the day, I WANT and NEED to go through with this. Tell me the truth.. HOW BAD IS the pain after surgery? And the vomiting? Has anyone died from it that we know of? Does everyone always get better???

I think you should do it! You have already come this far. PLEASE don't have band. It has honestly been nothing but a big painful mess. I was scared at first when my doctor told me about the sleeve. I think that is normal. I am really excited now though! Watch some of the Youtube videos and read the posts of the successes. The pain is only the first few days or so. Then you get to start living the life you know you want and deserve.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
