Any December Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Hi! my surgery date is Dec 13 in Regina SK Canada. I'm 5 days into my 2 week pre-surgery liquid diet and struggling. I'm tired of just drinking fluids and am hungry all the time. How are you doing?

Wow, sounds tough but you'll make it through!

I will also be starting a 2 week liquid diet, its not mandatory but I want to lose a few more pounds and make sure my liver is in good shape. Right now Im starting to prepare what I need, looking around for different types of Protein and basically gathering the different foods I know I will need. Good luck with your surgery!!

After what feels like a month of the waiting game, I was finally approved yesterday for the surgery which will be on the 8th. I am supposed to be on a modified pre-op diet one week prior (chicken, Protein Drinks, cottage cheese, salmon...mainly a low fat/low cal diet), but since i just found out for sure, It'll be more like 5 days only. I do have to do a liquid only diet on Tues. I guess i can't complain since some of you are having to do two full weeks of liquids.< /p>

Anyway, i haven't had time to 'freak out' yet since i was almost doubting it would even happen... the whole defense mechanism thing. And I have finals next week (Mon and Tues), so I really don't have a whole lot of time to focus on the surgery until Tues evening. AACK!!

Good to know I'm in good company with you all!! :)

I can't wait to do family christmas portraits next year.... how crazy is that? LOL

My surgery date is December 7th. Anyone scheduled on or near that date? I figure I'll be able to decorate the house and do my shopping beforehand, then be in pretty good shape by the time Christmas rolls around.

My surgery is scheduled for Dec. 8th. I can't wait, it seems like I have been waiting a life time. I hope I do as well as others on this site. Good luck. Be sure to post and let me know how it went!!!

Hi Alexis

I just found out I got approved this past Thursday. My surgery date is set for Dec 20. I've been extremely anxious ever since I found out. I'm definitely scared and emotional and I hope it will be worth it in the end. I think its just fear of the unknown. I know one things for sure is that I'm tired of living this way. Good luck on Dec 15! I'll be right behind you.

Well everyone I am sleeved and couldn't be happier! My only problem was with gas. It is getting better but still not gone. I stayed 2 nights instead of 1 because of the gas. I have 5 small incisions, and I had a hernia repaired that I didn't even know I had. I've got 2 weeks of liquids then I can start bringing in some smaller foods.

Good luck to everyone!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
