Frightened by anyting more than liquids...

Help - I am frightened to try to eat anything after being sleeved 17 days ago. After walking through the previous beloved aisles of my favorite grocery store ended up bringing home the requested eggs, cottage cheese, yogurt to be pureed. BUT, I can not bear the thought of putting my enemy "food" back into my stomach. What if I am unable stop eating (since I neither feel hunger nor fullness) and blow this beautiful VSG opportunity to gain back control? Help me.

Did this site change overnight?? I hope I'm replying!! LOL!

I am feeling similar, but I'm more frightened over how I might FEEL afterwards. I have been having a tough time moving on to purees. So I say just take it very slow. Scramble up one egg and eat it slowly. Or have one creamy yogurt and be done. Journal and write down and plan your day. I think you'll be okay!

I was scared to take my pain meds, let alone eat anything.... it gets better... day by day you'll trust yourself a little more and get to know your new body, and love it.

Just go with what you're comfortable with.

Good luck

OC, you will be alright!!! When you scramble that egg more than likely you will not be able to eat the whole thing. I am amazed at how little I can eat before I am full. You will probably eat 1/4 of a cup of cottage cheese and then you will be full and you will not want anymore. Believe me.

Also my nut told me to look for signs you are full such as sighing, yawning and nose watering and there are some other ones too. Good luck.

The other day I measured out a quarter cup of cottage cheese and started eating. First thing I have actually chewed! I got halfway through and felt that I had had quite enough. I can't describe what I felt, but I just knew I had better quit! The nose running thing is something my mom had all her life and I have had for 30 years but it starts the minute we put the first bite in our mouths. I never heard of the sighing and yawning as signs of being full. Wish I could figure out more signs since I have the biggest fear of upchucking! :o

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
